Halflife 2. Best X-Box game ever. Accept this statement or prove me wrong!
(ps What I'm really after is some suggestions as to some other good X-Box (not 360) games as I have played all mine to death! I can pick them up really cheap on e-bay and as this year is proveing expensive to date - new car, tv AND washing machine so far - I need all the help I can get

I have it on Xbox as well. Awesome, awesome game. Halo 2 is also close ot my heart.
As for suggestions...what games do you have? Are you an FPS maniac? More info!
I'm going to be figuring out which of my old Xbox games are compatible with my 360 over the next couple of weeks. I could send you those that won't work/I don't want anymore.

Oh? Steam's never given me trouble. Though I suppose there have been a few crashes, but one could say that with Windows!
I also like that my games are all in one place and updated continuously without having to download shite. But most of all--Team Fortress 2. Whatever provides me that I love.

When your internet connection is not up to scratch those updates are the bane of your life.
Took me like three days to get FEAR 2 up and running.

Cambo, thats a really kind offer, but trust me - I can pick up games WAY cheaper than you can send them from NZ. What I need is a few names of stuff that you guy's have found good. I have loved all the tomb raider games, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Leisure Suit Larry (Hem-Hem). King-kong was fun, as was Fable, Prince of Persia (Warrior Within) and Odd-World. I started to play Man-hunt, but found it a bit too nasty. I have an old game called Project Zero yet to play which I'm told is pretty good and I also have Call of Duty (Big Red One), Playboy Mansion, and GTA San Andreus yet to do. But yes - I think my first choice is First Person Shooter games with a bit of variety thrown in. Iguess what I'm really after is another game as close to HL2 as possible.
ps I've also got Morrowind which I love but the fight's are just too hard for me to win so I can't seem to make any progress with it!

HL2 is certainly one of my favorite games of all time and is a contender for best game ever to be sure.
I however have only played it via PC so I don't know the Xbox experience. Most games I've been introduced to on PC seem frustrating on a console because of the lack of precise targeting as opposed to what you get with a keyboard and mouse on the PC. Still I'm sure I would enjoy the game on any console, just not as much.

Man, I am pretty sure you have never played Cave Story, or have no love for traditional platformers from the golden age of gaming.
Half Life 2 was enjoyable! I got through part of it OK! But when all was said and done, I didn't even finish it. Isn't that sad?
(I think I got to the part where you're in some sort of river-type area...and the helicopter is chasing you...I shot down the helicopter...can't remember much more than that...)
Cambo wrote:Man, that's only three levels in! You didn't even get the gravity gun. One of the best things about the game.
I think I JUST GOT the gravity gun before I stopped. The nice thing is, somewhere in my stuff I have a memory card with my XBox saves and a copy of "The Orange Box" so I can play it again.
Frankly, I had just finished portal, after that half life 2 just wasn't as superincredible.
I'm still trying to get my hands on Portal, it's tough to find as a stand alone.
If you're any kind of FPS fan, though, I'd advise playing HL2 through. The game as a whole is shooter perfection, and parts of it are sublime. Fighting gunships, Striders, commanding armies of semi-intelligent aliens....it's a blast.

Pretty sure it would use up my monthly gig allowance and then some. Besides having a crappy provider, I share internet with three other people.
And as a side note, I do have Steam, but I actually got it with FEAR 2. I have HL2 on my Xbox. I'm a rare guy who prefers playing shooters and action games on consoles over PC. I've never found the accuracy issues a problem, like other people say, but that's probably because I'd been playing on consoles for quite a while before getting a decent gaming PC. I do prefer the PC for things like stealth and RPGs. The Hitman series, for example, I've played on both and had much more fun on PC.
