Well, turns out the Bobcat at work today had a paper wasp nest in it. Was stung thrice before I escaped to get what I could to battle them later. Very few things piss me off more than being stung, as some wasps found out... grrrrrr.... :mgun:

Went to see "Cowboys and Aliens" today -- it was entertaining. Saw the new "Harry Potter" Friday night too. I thought "C&A" was better.

Gotta do laundry tonight....

Went to the beach with Moose and BGB. No surprise there. We just went local, out to Ocean beach and let my beloved sand gorgon run the sands as he truly loves to do and then went and had munchies at Crepevine on Church St. then BGB headed out to a party he was not really wanting to go to but he felt so obligated that he agonized all morning up until he left... I hope he has fun. I am just home chillin like a been running in the sand tired villian....

Took yesterday morning to tune my bike up a bit, then went out for a twenty mile ride... and got a flat. GD nail went in one side and out the other. I had a nice walk back, though I turned a bit red.

I know you and Helldog will miss the beach, but your commute is now better and (as long as you protect your new address) you are safe from more harrassment from those whom you tried so hard and so long to help.

Just in case, make the acquaintance of your new police chief and any others in your new community who can help if trouble should follow you...and keep me on your speed-dial. I am far too distant to offer real assistance, but I will continue to provide good advice... :P

Yes, moving itself sucks but now you have new space to decorate and a whole new change of scene which can be very cathartic and liberating. I for one am also glad that you are safer now.

My day was pretty uneventful. Jimbo, my favorite canine visitor was in today but only John was with him. Turns out Jimbo's other dad, Mark was in Costa Rica visiting his family for a month so they were both feeling a bit lonely. John told me that they used to price shop but they have stopped shopping at other office supply stores because of the fierce puppy scritchin love Jimbo gets and the personal attention they get from me when they shop there. I thought that was pretty awesome. John just expanded his business and moved to new offices so they have been spending a lot of money in our store these past few months.

Also, come to find out that one of the associates asked my nemesis why he hates me so much and why he is such a dick to me and apparently my nemesis was shocked at the question and went off about how he likes working with me and how he thinks I am really funny and intelligent and good at my job. I just had to shake my head and laugh and say, "You could have fooled me!" But perhaps it registered something in his head because he came up to me later and said, "You have been quiet and hidden today, are you ok?" and I said, "I'm copy and print today so not so much out on the floor since Tony and I traded shifts plus since I am right by the registers so I just say I am getting it to the cashiers rather than use the headset." He said, "You are usually joking around a bunch on the headset so you seem very different today." I told him copy and print is a different world and he laughed and admitted he wouldn't know. So with that said, I have a new theory about why he constantly texts our boss about me. He is not used to people either ignoring him, arguing his authority in a manner that makes sense, proving him wrong consistently and not caring what he thinks. He has NO IDEA how to deal with me and therefore he is relying on our boss because he can't figure out how to deal with me himself. To further this theory our boss admitted that he was text complaining about me again and she told him to just let me do my job and not worry about me. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! It's too bad that I can't find a way to explain to him that you can't demand respect, it has to be earned and every battle with me he loses what tiny bit he had.

On other notes, called my Dad on Sunday just to say hello, as many of you know my father has issues with being on the phone, making phone calls and certainly never making them to his children. I left a message saying that I was just checking in and wanted to say hello to his voice rather than email. He actually CALLED ME BACK! Granted it was an hour later and my phone reception is so crappy here that I missed the call but he also actually LEFT A MESSAGE that he was sorry he missed my call, and had trouble finding my number to call me back sooner but hoped that I would call back again soon. I nearly fell over from the shock this morning when I got the message. I'll call him Wednesday before I go in to work. That west/east coastal time difference is a bitch and he's an early to rise early to bed type person. For those who don't know, my dad is not a lovey huggy expressive guy in any traditional sense but I know he loves me just the same. He says I love you without words and by sending me dried spices from his garden or sending me pics of some really cool stuff he found or saw from nature on his farm in Virginia. Let me clarify, he finds his most awesome joy in nature so when he sends me things like a picture of how beautiful this particular mushroom he grew is or he sends me a picture from his night motion cameras of wolf/coyote half breeds he is saying WITH ACTIONS NOT WORDS, "I found this amazing and wanted to share it with you because I love you and want you to share my joy in the beauty of it. Isn't the world amazing?" and even if I get frustrated I can't help but love him for it. How else would I have ever learned to pat bees or recognize a fin from a wave swell based on motion over half a mile away. Therefore it's shocking when he calls back and says he is sorry he missed my call, he hates the phone. So thank you universe for some unexpected positive energy. I like it a lot.

I hate phones as well. I like to see a person face to face when I am talking to them. I think there are two basic reasons for hating phones. One is a power thing. There are people that will answer calls but never initiate them. The "you came to Me" attitude. That is a person in need of controlling the situation. Then there is the other that feels phone calling is unnatural. That communication is meant for face to face contact. That's me. Well actually they are both me to be honest. The work me and the notso social me. So I get your dad. He sounds like a person at peace, a person not afraid of some silence. My father, on the other hand, is terrified of any silence and must keep the blabber going incessantly. He........Never..........Shuts.............Up. Consequently I run shrieking from him after about 20 minutes. I am glad he (your father) has managed to express his affection for you without words, and I am glad you are able to receive it. Not as easy an accomplishment as it sounds.

What lorin said, Jenn. Your dad's a terrific guy -- but hey, he's a guy. My dad never liked to talk on the phone either. If I called and he answered, the conversation would go like this:

"Hello."
"Hi, Dad, how are you?"
"Fine. How are you?"
"I'm fine."
"Okay, here's your mother."

My husband started his new job yesterday!! He is liking it so far, but his commute is awful. We are getting out of here October 1st!! We got approved for the apartment we wanted, so now everything is a waiting game.

In the meantime, I am fighting extreme urges to dye my hair blue. The last time I used bleach, I f'ed my hair up. It was purple, but when the purple faded, it was green. Now I'm wondering if I should just go more red or black with blue. So many choices.

I had an ok day. Quiet, not too eventful. One frustrating thing though. I did that wedding shoot and they gave me a check and then two days later called panicking and asking me not to deposit it and said they would pay me cash when they got back from the honeymoon. I was cool with it because I know how crazy things can get for a bride and groom during wedding time. So they came to meet me at my work at the end of my shift today and told me they were still having some issues getting the finances straightened out but they are going to give me payments over the next few weeks and hopefully have me paid off in two weeks. They gave me sixty bucks which they said was my tip and not part of the contracted amount which was cool but hey, I wants my money. I am hanging on to the pics until I am paid in full which they are cool with. I did let them look through them and OOOHHHH they WANTS them.... precious pictures. I thought they might pee themselves looking at them so I know I will get paid but hey, I wanna be paid NOW! Oh well, I'll live. And it was nice to see the gamut of emotions on their faces as they looked at the pictures and kept gasping at various photos and calling me amazing, brilliant, talented, amazing several more times along with some other adjectives along those lines that I can't remember and then gushing again about how talented I am and how they can't wait to get the pictures from me when they left. Oh and there was some gushing about how I captured the whole wedding and it was like watching a story unfold and the candids of the guests were stunning. And as they walked away I overheard this, "Did you see how she made Tasha look? She looked like a model in that picture, she's gonna LOVE it."

It's all good in the grand scheme of things so I just have to let it go and be really careful about how I spend money from now until payday and I'm also on a strict budget for the barbecue. That's fine though, all the meat and basics from Foodsco and the veg from Duc Loi and it will all be good.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

let's see - had baked chicken on the menu for supper at work. i/m's lose their minds for chicken (fried, baked, bbq) in that order. we are locked down so instead of 30 i/m's to work i have maybe 10. chicken loaded in oven.

power goes out.

for an hour.

gas still working so chicken is cooking. had to open side door to oven, and use hand crank to turn huge rotary oven. saved chicken. power came back on.

co-worker left early to apply for part time job elsewhere. so i had to run his egg/melon truck and do the soap he couldn't be bothered to do.

but captain did buy me a diet coke...

I have a reduced capacity for putting up with my usual ration of $#!t at work today.
I'm so $%&^%$# tired of explaining software validation testing 101 to project managers! This latest round marks the fifth PM I've had to train on what validation is - and these are all PM's that supposedly have been working in Pharma for decades! This constant re-education is really about testing boundaries - every new PM wants to see what they will be allowed to 'get away with' from the Quality folks, which means they all pretend to be ignorant and ask basic questions like 'so why *do* we have to test this software and document it before it goes into production?' It's not like the process of validation has changed in the time I've been here...
I understand everybody is working against unrealistic deadlines, but c'mon, people, don't be stupid on purpose! It just makes you look like you don't know what you're doing... theoretically, we're all trained professionals here - so why I do I feel like I'm shepherding kindergarteners? Upper management plays along because that allows them to claim 'plausible deniability' when $#!t goes wrong.

It's live action Dilbert - and I'm the one wearing the bent tie.
