I would like to know how to do REAL knitting, but when I saw what you do I felt like it was scaling the Himalayas (left handed) so I am just going to wait for you to knit it for me.......much easier than learning.aliantha wrote: Did I mention that one of my colleagues at work expressed an interest in learning to knit? Actually, she already knows, but she doesn't know how to read a printed pattern and she makes her stitches too tight. Anyway, we got together in the cafeteria Friday, and one of my usual lunch group folks sat with us and expressed an interest in learning too. Monday, we sat again in the cafeteria, and worked on casting on (getting the first row of stitches on the needle). A couple of other folks from my usual lunch group joined in and it was actually fun.We were supposed to get together again yesterday, but the woman I started with had to work through lunch -- so, another boring day.
Ah well. We did have an interesting conversation about how ready each of us is to retire....
That's enough to make anyone want to cry or scream.... Very funny. Happy to teach you, too, y'know -- you'll need a hobby to keep you busy in retirement.lorin wrote:I would like to know how to do REAL knitting, but when I saw what you do I felt like it was scaling the Himalayas (left handed) so I am just going to wait for you to knit it for me.......much easier than learning.aliantha wrote: Did I mention that one of my colleagues at work expressed an interest in learning to knit? Knitting is easy! I taught myself. There are a ton of youtube videos on how to knit; for free! It's just practice, practice, practice. And if you can learn the knit stitch and the purl stitch, you can do anything.lorin wrote:I would like to know how to do REAL knitting, but when I saw what you do I felt like it was scaling the Himalayas (left handed) so I am just going to wait for you to knit it for me.......much easier than learning.aliantha wrote: Did I mention that one of my colleagues at work expressed an interest in learning to knit? Did they mistake them for pot handle holders?aliantha wrote:Intriguing....
The ex's ex (the one after me, not the one before me) crocheted some "willie warmers" as gag gifts one Christmas, and sent them around to the relatives. The ex's sister and brother-in-law were not amused.
You make it and I will wear it.......and take pics to prove it.aliantha wrote: The crocheted willie warmers, as I understand it, were just tubes. That hat wouldn't be a willie warmer. That hat would be... I dunno *what* that would be, to be honest. Altho I would be willing to pay lorin to wear it to work.
