I don't know how to tell you how great it is to put up that kind of post and wake up in the morning, all stiff and crap, open my computer and find such an outpouring of support. I really am fortunate. OK ENOUGH of this gushy stuff, hugs and all that stuff to all of you.

I should make a positive side of the board. And I do, especially when you give me so much to read on the board late at night when I can't sleep.

i DON'T have a pool so i'd like to come and use yours, if i may!
YOU MAY, YOU MAY!!! (you've got about one month before you will have to ask the bank if you can swim in THEIR pool) After that it's the public beaches.

I meet with the surgeon on Tuesday regarding what, if anything, was found between all of these screens. I am hopeful the initial ultrasound was a fluke, and there is nothing to be found. But as of now, status is unknown until then.

Lorin! Same as everyone else, except late. So I will add: stop listing your woes and start counting your blessings! If there was ever a time that that that was important, it's now.

I think for my part it is more reticence than doubt - awareness that this is after all a public forum. I have trust issues and don't like to hand out too much personal info. It's why I won't use Facebook or Real ID or any of that other social networking stuff. But I would be honored to maybe join your kingdom.

I hear you on that front. I have trust issues that all center around the net. I have been severely duped on another site so it was many many years before I joined this or any other site. It was an emotional victimization that turned me inside out. The people I had been so vested in turned out to be fake, playing emotional head games. That was one of the reasons I went to Albuquerque. I wanted to meet people in 3D. I wanted to make sure the people that were so awesome online were actually awesome in 3D. AND THEY WERE!!! I wish I had met you, Wayfriend, Seareach and a bunch more. Hopefully next time. Y'all can help me house hunt in New Mexico.

That's (part of) what makes KW so awesome - all the people from here that I have met so far (and I've met quite a few) are exactly what they appear to be. And I think that is a very rare and precious thing with the kind of anonymity that the internet breeds. I've had bad experiences on other forums as well - nothing too terrible, but enough to make me hesitant to take people at face value.

You guys rock. |G

And count me in for the house-hunting thing. I need an adventure. :yeehaa:

Actually, Sorus will get to sample the cake if she wants as I am bringing it to work with me tomorrow as my "hello again" cake.

Seareach, devil's food is a very rich dark chocolate cake.

"Devil's food. A cake, muffin, or cookie made with dark chocolate, so called because it is supposedly so rich and delicious that it must be somewhat sinful, although the association is clearly made with humor. Its dark color contrasted with the snowy white of angel-food cake, an earlier confection. The first devil's food recipe appeared in 1900, after which recipes and references became frequent in cookbooks. The "red devil's food cake," given a reddish-brown color by the mixture of cocoa and baking soda, is post-World War II version of the standard devil's food cak---Encyclopedia of American Food and Drink, John F. Mariani [Lebhar Friedman:New York] 1999 (p. 111) e."

 Excellent! Hope the first day back is/was great for you, Jenn. 8)

Soooo today's Labor Day (a holiday in the US), and I've spent most of the day laboring. :( Updating one social media site or another. Boy howdy, this social media marketing thing is starting to feel suspiciously like work.

But I think I've got everything linked up now, so that a blog post will feed Facebook, which will feed Twitter, which will feed my author pages on Goodreads and Amazon.

I think I need a nap. :Z:

Guys, go to the Google home page right now and check out the vid they have in the header for Freddy Mercury's birthday. Quick, before it changes to something else for tomorrow.

Sorus, thanks for the youtube link. Apparently that was uploaded by Google, so hopefully it will be around for awhile.

ali, I shared the link you posted on Facebook. My gut is telling me it may be removed sometime soon though...

Had a good first day. Derek seemed to be extra helpful and went out of his way to be nice to me. The "Eat Me" cake was much appreciated by the employees as well. One of the night employees asked me what it said since most of it was gone and when I said, "Eat Me" he busted out laughing and thought I was kidding. It was nice to work with my old crew and meet the newbies. I think I'm going to be pretty happy there.
