YAY! Cagbro! I can't wait to be an auntie again!
Ali, that was sweet about the heart. I'm planning to surprise Caitlin with lunch on Monday for her amazing work in the copy center supply closet today. She kicked some major ass. When she was about to leave yesterday I told her, "Caitlin, when you come in tomorrow you go straight to the closet and start cleaning and when I get in I'll check in." She told me she didn't know where to start so I told her to start with assessing the paper stacks and seeing what was identifiable and what was not and moving the unknown/unusable stuff out of the closet to be dealt with later. I got to work and she had made hecka progress. I had Sorus mark down all the excess paper and partial paper packs that I wanted to get rid of with a "dummy" item number and price it at $1.00. Most of it was gone by the time I left tonight. We also drummed up some service sales for the copy center because this older lady saw the legal size paper for a dollar and paid us $1.50 to cut it to letter size, three reams. Hey, every penny counts. Anyway, when I got in and checked in with Caitlin she asked me about what to do about the miscellaneous coils laying around and several other items and I told her to just throw them away. She was very happy with that answer and the closet is now almost done. A little fine tuning on Monday and we will be in perfect shape.
Sorus, I'm so glad you aren't upset with me moving shit all over the place and then often moving it again. I'm also very flattered that you think the copy center looks awesome because your opinion is extremely valuable to me especially since you are familiar with the handicaps I am up against and the disasters of the past that I have been trying to fix. I forgot to ask you what you thought of my adorably cute and girly chained pen and apple holder post it note dispenser so that customers can write down the item number and quantity of paper they take from the single sheet rack. Caitlin and I were cutesing over it after we set it up and Derek was trying to call us ridiculous and silly but I told him it wasn't my fault he had no sense of style nor flair and told him run along and go back to his boring tech department. He walked away. We giggled. He pointedly pretended to ignore us. It was quite amusing. Later in the office, privately he did tell me it looked good and that the changes were impressive, especially Caitlin's attitude towards work in the past few weeks. On other notes, I had Kin change my schedule to later so I can monitor Bryce. I've noticed him doing things the wrong way, told him how I would like it done and then found him doing it the wrong way again and again and found him leaving miscellaneous paper piles a few times even after me telling him in a constructive way with a positive tone, "Make sure to put the paper away when you are done with the job, that saves us so much money, time and confusion, OK?". If I can't change his habits I might have to kick him out of the copy center so I'm going to be working 10:30 to 7 next week on the days that Caitlin works. Same with Jay. He's still post it note on some of his orders. GRRR.... Anyway, if this helps, with Caitlin there and most of our reorganizing finished, when I come in I can help you with the massive price changes and yes, more are coming up next week. I can probably be at your beck and call for at least two hours a day next week.

I've had a good weekend. First full weekend off work in months and months.
A good friend of mine got back from a 3 month trip around Europe and a group of us hung out and had aome quiet drinks last night.
Also, I finally got the nerve to tell a friend from work that I was into her. She was surprised but reacted well. No word yet if she might think of me that way, but signs are positive.

Taking that risk is always hard, Cambo. Remember that the potential upside outstrips the downside by several orders of magnitude.

No, thank goodness
. I have more than enough "L" women in my life as it is. Off the top of my head there's Lorin, Louise, Laura, Laurie, and Lexi.
Oh, and Louise already knows. Lorin, I guess you'll find out when you read this. Sorry. Hopefully you're in a sharing mood?

cool day - julie picked up our grandson (zeke) and headed to houston. she picked up my comics from bedrock (some cool stuff came in) and the free paper.
they were going to visit her mom - but her mom had gone with another daughter (and her husband) to visit julie's brother (and his wife) in galveston.
so julie and zeke went to ikea and shopped for bathroom stuff - and had a very good (and low cost) lunch there.
then when i got out of work (shorthanded by 2 c/o's but help was provided) we went and ate and then picked up some graphic novels at reduced rate at hastings. julie and zeke picked up a comforter at target.
and zeke is spending the night, he and julie will be decorating the finished bathroom at some point while watching football... damn i have to visit the hangar!

...and then there's oversharing.
(Sorry, that was too good a line to pass up.
)
Magickmaker had yesterday off, so we went to the library and went shopping for her to get work shoes that won't kill her feet. She's got high arches and has been wearing Chucks.
Several stores and many, many pairs of shoes later, she found a pair that was more or less acceptable. She's trying them out today.
Then we stopped at a restaurant we'd never tried before. Thai and Laotian food. Tasty, and Magickmaker paid, which made it even better.
I tried to get online last night but our intarwebz slowed to a crawl. Seems fine now, tho. I wonder whether we have a new tenant in the building who's hogging the DSL bandwidth. Ah well, we'll see if it happens again....

Psst, WF, he's already got a toddler. The "sleep" horse left the barn a few years ago...

That last little bit just pleads for consideration. I completely understand and accept your position that you would not share someone...but yet you apparently would consider allowing sharing yourself with more than one. I am sure that you can see the lack of consistency there.
If the others involved are accepting of this arrangement, clearly it is nobody's business than the group of you. Nevertheless, I am interested why you are willing in principle to consider one alternative and not the other.
In your diet blog, you speak of nutrition, and of the many perils and triggers that lead you to non-nutritious eating. Many of the same principles apply in this realm...only it is a different aspect of one's self being nourished. Absolutely, "empty calories" are to be shunned. However, when one has gone without true sustenance for so long, what is gained by ruling out a source where such may be obtained?
There is no way to fathom the mystery of what, when or how this kind of bond will ignite. Remain open to what Love may put in your path. Do not leap lightly; know what you do...but keep in mind that somewhere in RL, there is someone for you, a person or people who is/are missing your presence as much as you do theirs. Find each other. If what you find is not conventional, do not let that deter you if all can accept what you collectively are for each other.
Nourishing what is famished in you and in those who need you is critical. You know that. What others say, what society might think, is of far less import.
Love prevails.

Sigh, that, my dear, was meant as a touch of humor. Ah well, never too good at humor.Savor Dam wrote: That last little bit just pleads for consideration. As for the rest, it is just not for me. As you said, it is business that remains to those involved, it is just not for me. I won't go into the ups and downs, the rights and wrongs, the good and bad, because it is not my business. For me, and only for me, I am just too damned crazy, too insecure, too needy, and yes, too friggin romantic to share my man with another woman. When I am in love, and God knows, those times are few and far between, it is all consuming. Yes I could share my man, quiet my own needs, my own heart, for his benefit, but to me that is not love, because my man would not want me to lose myself in other people's needs. And again, that is only me and lord knows, I have been wrong before.
So Cambo, sorry boo, you gotta ditch her.

Haha, ditch her? I don't even know if she likes me yet!
Of course, my watchwife really wants to throw a spanner in the works, you could just post a copy of this convo to my FB wall. If she doesn' run screaming in the other direction, she's the keeper of all keepers.

I don't get the attraction of FB. Only use it because it's how my guild communicates these days. Hadn't intended to keep the account I started, which is why I'm registered under my guildmaster's dog's nickname.
