Thank you mrsnull!

Sorry Sarge, can't say I've heard of Roky, but from your links it sounds like he's an amalgam of recent musical history!

ALEXANDER – ACL MUSIC FESTIVAL
Austin, TX
September 17, 2011
there's a link on their website edwardsharpeandthemagneticzeros.com/

edit - actually, maybe that means it's just the singer not the band?

Death In Vegas at Electric Picnic including the wonderfully surreal arrival of the HUGE dinosaur skeleton on top of the crowd.

Orchestral Manouvres in the Dark at Electric Picnic

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros at Electric Picnic It's shaky but the place was so jumping I'm surprised they got as much of the stage as they did!

hardly strictly day one

i got there late. bah. i missed john prine dammit.

i had a great time hearing Band of Joy tho. sound system was excellent.
they did great songs and robert plant was awesome.

i just wanted to be in the same room with him one time when he was singing and tonight, tho there were no walls at golden gate park so i was technically not in the same room with him, i felt like i was. it was a great moment for me. he did Ramble On. 8)

i got some stills tho they're pretty crappy cause i was so far away and too short. but i got a few good ones and amazingly, i recorded a couple of songs and got AWESOME video. the audio on my camera was brilliant for the tiny little camera it is so tho the footage isn't great you can hear the songs pretty well.

i met a cool girl named ava and we chatted and listened to the music. concert bonding. :D

i got off the 5Fulton bus at Divisidero on the ride home cause the bus was soooo packed and i couldn't take being in that close a contact with so many people all the way back downtown.
walked 4 blocks to Geary and took the 38Geary on down to my pad, but i got in this great conversation with this fella on the bus cause i was reading my kindle and he asked what i was reading so i explained lee child's Jack Reacher character and the series to him and missed my stop. heh.
got off 2 blocks past my house on Jones and Geary and there's this great little Pakistani restaurant on the corner and the smells comin outa there were irresistible so i stopped and got some lamb biryani and nan to take home.
OMG it was SOOOOOO hot and spicey but SOOOOOO good.

all in all and for getting there late, i had a great time.
definitely going tomorrow, don't know who i'll see yet.
but also definitely going on sunday to hear hugh laurie!!!!
i hope he does St. James Infirmary!!!

yay! HSB!!! 8) :D

Sounds pretty awesome, Luci. Sorry I wasn't up for going, just too tired and not in the mood for dealing with crowds.

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing

and i've just uploaded the Huge Laurie video on to you tube.

it's a bit distorted midway thru the song...i was really close to the speakers.

plus it's the first time i ever made a video with my little cannon powershot.

i'm just glad i captured the moment. :D

I've been to the Wacken Open Air in 2007. It's the biggest Metal festival in the world. Officially there were like 75,000 people but really it was more like 100,000 (the promoters will never admit it due to safety reasons, but that's what police estimated).

Thanks to Josh Silver, Type O Negative's keyboarder, I got a backstage and an artist pass. I could really access all areas including the band's dressing rooms and the catering in the "artist village". It has been one the highlights in my 33 years of loving music.
