Elohimfest '11 video now up on SRD' website!!!!

Post by danlo »

Kinda dark and noisy in the beginning, but it gets better. (even I haven't seen it before, so I don't know if I'm satisfied or not--at least you can hear what Donaldson is saying...)

Can someone remind me which question generated SRD's response about his own father, please?

Thanks for posting.

It's great to taste a little bit of the Elohimfest atmosphere and listen to SRD's answers.

One technical remark, would it be possible to use a clip-on microphone next time for SRD? It would *dramatically* improve the sound quality.

I finally watched these (well, not all of them since I didn't want spoilers for gap or the last dark). It was very interesting to hear him talk about his stories. What kind of accent was that he has, by the way? I didn't recognise it.

SRD speaks with fairly generic middle American diction, but with the slightly improved enunciation of the educated.

Yea, he's just a slight variation on what voice teachers call "standard American"...the preferred dialect for acting training...and news broadcasters and such...
I mention it cuz the first time I heard him speak [from one of the interviews at his webpage...I believe it was actually the first of the Elo-fest ones] I was really surprised. For a number of reasons, I expected something a bit exotic/idiosyncratic.

the hyperbole is a beauty...for we are then allowed to say a little more than the truth...and language is more efficient when it goes beyond reality than when it stops short of it.
