Searearch has reported that Romeo sent her a CD of the video last week-that's Great news as it means it has been condensed, enhanced and edited. Right now it's in SRD's hands to review it and install it on his website. I'm still hopeful for the end of this month. :P

Definitely. Though, the conversation about this with my husband will likely go something like, "You want to go to the USA to meet an author of books I don't like and to meet people from the internet that we don't know for our holiday?". Then there will be some shaking of the head and talk of a greek island or italy or spain. :P

So, I will enjoy the video instead, I think!
Then come just to visit Albuquerque... then once you're here and it 'happens to be at the same time as such', you can join in the fun whilst your husband is too befuddled to respond in whatever manner he finds reasonable! MWAHAHA!

Seriously, there's a bunch of stuff around there to see, so you can sell it as just 'part of the holiday' and not its entirety.

Well, I'm all ears, should the happy chance occur that I might be able to participate (and maybe find someone with whom to journey there). :) I love prehistory, many types of museums, hiking, visiting interesting buildings and nature sights (not something that's littered with throngs of tourists, however), and obviously would have to include a fair deal of other activities to the program in order to enjoy the cost of plane tickets as much as possible. I'm definitely not one of those persons who prefer spending their vacations sunbathing on a beach (and there's nothing wrong with that, everyone has their own penchants :)).

And the most important question of all: how does a person sans a driver's license manage to get around in the States without spending huge sums to taxis? I've heard that public transportation isn't on par with the European systems and that cycling is dangerous due to a lack of separate paved tracks.

Also, what kinds of temperatures do you have there at that time of year? Anything past 30 Celcius is a massive no-no; I generally start feeling queasy already at 27C. :/

It does -- but Albuquerque, not so much. Still, I understand there's a train up to Santa Fe, and Santa Fe's worth a trip.

Zorm, Watchers help other Watchers get around at Fests. Last June, I provided rides at various times for Menolly, Loremaster, Orlion, Johnnyredleader and others. Most other attendees who were driving either their own cars or rentals did the same...and those who knew the area led the way for those less familiar.

Yes, and on a twisty mountain road, no less. Meanwhile, danlo's up in front, saying, "Why are they going so slowly and hanging back? COME ON!!!"
