As long as you are above ground, you have some part in the great Plan that drives the Universe-- that the Planner has you in mind in some way, small or great. Thank God that you are able to work, that you have strength, and health, and a job to do; for many would gladly trade places with you. Be glad you are on the right side of that razor wire at the end of the working day, and you made it through one more day. Be glad for the people waiting at home for you and be grateful as you walk in the door. You have a place to be. You have people to be with. You have life and breath.

Sing a song in the car on the way home, loud and awful, and rejoice that your breath is your own. I, for one, am glad you are alive.

Now THIS is a wonderful thread!

You have a way with words my dear deer, and I am happy to receive any words of wisdom that you are willing to deliver, so here I go!

I feel happy in my life, but I have grown up with so many insecurities that have ruled my life and I would like to methodically stamp them out and become a rounded human being :) Anyway, I love your work, and wish you all the best.

Plenty more where that came from:
James, the brother of Jesus wrote:If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5)

Thanks, and you too!

Happiness has blessed your years. Yet may you also taste joy.

Joy to face your fears with a flutter in your stomach and a smile in your eyes.

Joy to taste the bitter and find in it the answer to the sweet.

Joy to face falling and failure, and learn wisdom and depth and healing and forgiveness.

Joy to share with those who have not known happiness, and to find in each other the courage to live without fear.

:) Love the thread!!

I'm on a really great high - have been for like 3 days I think.

But I'm a little afraid of a crash, and/or of stomping all over others inconsiderately in my excitement!!!

Because I know I do this. (mainly to my hubby - it's Sunday over here, so he's got hard work day ahead of him!)

Linna, may you live without fear of being who you are, or of caring and maybe getting hurt, or of trying and maybe failing, because life is not maybe or what if, it is NOW. Enjoy it while it lasts, and know that no 'crash' is bigger than you and God together.

Will you succeed or fail

Though I've climbed a thousand mountains
And stood upon their peaks
I still find my greatest comfort

Beautiful thread...

Something my Mother wrote:

This is hope everlasting
Grace beyond breath
Here, the light illuminates all things
All things, all life, all death
I walk here
I walk amongst the grandeur, the glorious
A sweet music chimes
A sweet voice sings

This is hope everlasting
Faith beyond prayer
All those, all
Pour themselves out
Souls call
Souls cry
I hear
I hear the weeping

This is hope everlasting
Comfort beyond warmth
Peace beyond peace
Love beyond love

She would have loved this thread. :hearts:
For Myles--
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings

Thanks, FireDaughter. I was pretty much MIA during the time of her passing and didn't find out till much later, but I can tell she had a beautiful spirit. May she rest peacefully in the arms of Christ.

Love, spoken, echoes
Past the point of hearing.
Oxygen molecules shiver
With joy at its passing wave.

Love, acted upon, ripples
Outward into shanty towns,
Concrete jungles tremble
With fear and desire.

Love, remembered, swells
Hearts beyond possibility of forgetfulness.
Human hearts enlarge
With beats and breaths and moments

And love is spoken again.
Love is acted upon
Love is remembered
And we do not forget; this is our life.

That's for FF. :)

Oh, how pretty! Thank you so much! I'm going to quote that into Mom's journal thread. :-)

Prayer request... I'm a bit concerned about bitterness. (mainly thinking of myself here.) Just some stuff happening...

Also, I esp. loved these lines:

Linna, may you today find the cusp, between stuff happening and the utterly unexplainable grace of God, where bitter becomes sweet; where love overrules misgivings, where light (even of a frail and windblown candle) overcomes darkness.
John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

Hurting, sad for a friend, frustrated... feeling like I need to re-learn a lesson I thought "I had down." (ha, my presumption!) At least I wanted to think I "had it down"?
Sooo very exasperated with my own insufficiency.
I keep imagining this emoticon all day: :hithead:

Scared of evil, without and within.

Linna,

Your heart is alive with compassion. Your friend's pain is your pain. This is the meaning of "fellowship".
The Preacher wrote:Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
May you, your friend, and Christ be that unbreakable threefold cord today.

He will not leave you as you are... remember the story of Amy Carmichael and the silver refiner? He heated the metal and skimmed off the dross, again and again. She asked him, "How do you know when the silver is ready?" and he replied, "When I can see my face in it." Know that you are in the Refiner's fire, He is looking at His own image becoming clearer in your face.

May "my own insufficiency" become His all-sufficiency even now.
But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me...For when I am weak, then I am strong.
May you FEAR NO EVIL today, though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death!
Outside were conflicts, inside were fears. Nevertheless God, who comforts...

Thank you... good reminder of the real goal. This is good. Had totally forgotten that Amy Carmichael story til you mentioned it; tis beautiful.
Outside were conflicts, inside were fears. Nevertheless God, who comforts...
Okay, THANK YOU for this one! I had forgotten it. This stuff has more and more meaning as I get a little bit older. I think I brushed over the fact that this is the apostle Paul - one of the most fearless people I can imagine - here saying "_we_ were afflicted with... fears within" ..."brushed over" that the first however many times I saw it.

Interesting thread, is this supposed to be an uplifting thread or a religious thread? Seems as though it started out the former and is turning into the latter.
