I don't know about you, but I still have great difficulty imagining the Bloodguard fighting on horseback. It was the only thing spoiling my enjoyment of The Illearth War. It's a question of reach. The Bloodguard fight unarmed.
"Hey Bannor, how do you fight on horseback?"
"We... suffice."
Did they dismount to fight? But the text doesn't say they dismount.
I'm sure they can ride right up to an enemy, even slowly and calmly, knocking aside any weapons being sent their way, until they can simply reach down and kill the enemy with their hands.

Agreed. Also, they don't use weapons, but that doesn't mean that, say, a spear they knock aside can't "conveniently" hit the enemies nearby. Plus, there is a lot of throwing themselves off the horses to fight in the books, so maybe the horses just speed things up. Plus, Ranhyn are fighters too, in a way.
I’m not afraid of Death. What’s he going to do, kill me?
