Attendant Gardner that I try to be. Many fruit trees will you find in my garden. Grape vines and raspberries, Bananas type tree.
"Fly on the wall" amused me... and fits so well with the rhythm of those lines, I think.
I find it fun you put the gardening stuff in something that (can) invite us to put something about our most essential nature (or what we see of it). It really IS part of some people's most core "who they are"...
Cambo! Especially liked the second. Esp. the line "Balancing atop this pain." Balancing! Hard!
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor
"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"
Thanks, Linna. I have a house in Texas with all kinds of fruit trees. Most of what I plant I try to make feed us. Two figs, A lemon and a Key/Mexican Lime, Pomegranate, a peach tree and a stonefruit tree with grafted Peaches/Apricots/plums/nectarines, two apple trees, and several types of Bananas (Red, cavendish, and ones that I am told will have a slight apple flavor...we'll see next year). The grape vine, yellow raspberries, And, of course, Roses for my Rosie Cotton...
I am much better at limericks... Dr.G's Limerick Insanity: On occasion, ol' DoctorGamgee, Can with limericks be fast and free. Though it may strike a nerve Or inspire vim and verve, Rarely does it inspire ennui....
Gott in Himmel, he's gone round the bend! As if limericks should never end. Maybe now is the time, Gamgee's anapest rhyme, Ends before he should lose a Deer Friend! (Enough already, or do we need more...?!?!)

Our little plot has swallowed whole many a seedlings. Only some bulbs and potted plants survive.
Must we go through this again
Recalling once, and never, friends
Below the feet the body ends
Revealing all that breaks, and bends
Overcoming fads, and trends
Killing means to justify ends
Even so to make ammends
Never recouping all he spends.
Now that I have your full attention
Earlier I failed to mention
Keep disbelief in full suspension
Open your mind for complete retention
Removing any need for tension
Before we lose sense of dimension
Receiving now our rightful pension
Misleading to avoid detention.
Not sure if I did that right but it was fun all the same.

I don't know if I understood your poems though I've read them several times but good work.

Dear Lord, you inspire me to try One frail hand at limerickery. Could my silly rhyme Try for sublime Or fail on my very first try?
Really...
Good grief. I really should stick At my usual meterless schtick. Maybe someday, as the Game will be played, Even Deer will do Limerick. Ehrrhh.....
