The one usage was by Vader in the Flicks forum talking about a movie version of The Tempest.

Tsk! Tsk! to the Sarge. Three peachy words that he hasn't used. By the way where is the Nulled One. His presence recently has been unnervingly mirroring his moniker?

Inordinate: 69 posts in 52 threads
Ordinate: 3 posts

(Then I looked who those 3 posters were and was like "Cool!")

Anyway, this is just part of my campaign to bring "ordinate" back into (more) common usage.
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor

"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"

Thanks Linna, you caused me to go and expore a new word. The three posters were interesting (some of my favourite posters on the Watch!). And also interesting: rus was quoting Dickens and Holsety was quoting C.S Lewis (I think). So a veritable host of interesting users of the word.

I was then prompted to do a search of one of my often extolled words:

Ordinary : 1157

Which, interestingly (but not that surprisingly given its spelling), has the same root as ordinate.

Marsupial : 24

Used by a wide range of Watch stalwarts, but not by Sarge. May have something to do with the fact that the mythical country Australia is alleged to be home to many marsupials. Maybe marsupials themselves are also mythical

Here's a picture of a really cute mythical marsupial.

Well, it couldn't possibly be The Tank, so I'm going with The Galley.
e.g. "Using instant mashed potato in Shepherd's Pie is tantamount to culinary treason."

DISMOUNT

Most in the Galley. My ex-Galley favourite is this one from the Tank by Seven Words:
