Cant find book

Post by lmyhcsf »

Sorry people dont know if this should be here. Read a book re, cant rem what its called, think its a trilogy???
Ok here we go.
Some teen and lass go to the big city This seems like in "Ye Olde Times" or a variant. He gets into the constabulary and she seems to go into some nuns order??.
Cant quite rem wot happens to her, but he ends up walking on water to capture a thief? which leads onto bigger things. Also he starts to understand the city, which lets him walk through walls, through corridors etc.

That's the Void trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton. I thought it was quite good. (I haven't read the third book yet.) It actually shares the same universe as an earlier series, called the Commonwealth saga, which was also quite good.

Well, if there are TWO stories about a boy and a girl who go to the big city, the boy becomes a constable, the girl joins a religious retreat, and the boy/constable walks across water to catch a thief, and also talks to the city and learns how to walk through walls ... then Peter F Hamilton is in rather a pickle, wouldn't you say?
