So apparently, I'm not the only one who has enjoyed the homestarrunner site on occasion.
So, here's the "official" thread, started because StrongBad is not ACTUALLY a character in the First or Second Chrons, although that would be hilarious. (photoshop opp, anyone?)
Translation: Everyone talk about Strong Bad here!
Because he is awesome...
"And the Trogdor comes in the niggggghhhhhhhtttttt!!!"
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor
"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"
So yeah, about Strong Bad... I have fond memories (from about '02/'03) of hanging out with a good friend or two each week to watch the latest StrongBad E-mail. And laughing my head off.
Holsety- you'd mentioned Stinko-man... I loved the E-mail SO MUCH... but I never really played the SB games on the site.
Probably because I get addicted to computer games so easily.
And Ananda- Yes, I LOVE that one! The Cheat is so cute. Also, I quote it to my kids regularly: Spoiler
The Cheat, you were given your own light switch so that you could turn the lights on.. and off.
Not so you could throw lightswitch raves!

Would it be considered stealing stuff and/or bad form if I just entered this for a funeral-scene-gone-wrong in the bad writing contest, vraith?
STRONG BAD: The Cheat, man. Where did we go wrong? Seems like just yesterday we were setting fire to Strong Sad's underwears.
STRONG SAD: That WAS yesterday!
STRONG BAD: {overlapping} This one's for you.
{singing}
I got mad at The Cheat (Uh!)
For screwin' up the Jumble caper (Uh!)
I hope I don't see his name in the paper
In the obituaries, cause that would mean he's dead
The Cheat is not dead
I'm so glad The Cheat is not dead
The Cheat is not dead (STRONG SAD: Dead!)
I'm so glad The Cheat is not dead
The Cheat is not dead (STRONG MAD: Dead!)
I'm so glad The Cheat is not-
{spoken} Just the claps! Just the claps! Uh! Uh! Strong Sad, I didn't know you had any rhythm.
STRONG SAD: Oh sure, I got tons of rhythm!
STRONG BAD: Uh! Uh! All right guys, keep it rollin' for me. Keep it rollin! Come on!
{singing}
I cracked wise at The Cheat
But in my defense he cracked wise at me first
I hope he doesn't end up in a hearse
At the cemetery, 'cause once again that would mean that he's dead
{choir joins in}
The Cheat is not dead
I'm so glad The Cheat is not dead
The Cheat is not dead ({spoken} Whoa, where'd this choir come from?)
I'm so glad The Cheat is not dead
({choir harmonize})The Cheat is not dead ({spoken} You guys sound great!)
I'm so glad The Cheat is not dead
The Cheat is not dead
I'm so glad The Cheat is not dead
The Cheat is not deeaaad
I'm so glad The Cheat is not dead
The Cheat is not deeeaad
I'm so glad The Cheat is not deeeeeeeaaaaaaaa...d
Cheat is not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
Cheat is not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
No The Cheat's not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
The Cheat is not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
Ohhh, he's dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
No he's not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
I said The Cheat's not dead now! (Cheat is not dead!)
No Cheat's not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
Let's call the store! (Cheat is not dead!)
Collect the receipts! (Cheat is not dead!)
Got the frozen food! (Cheat is not dead!)
The Cheat is not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
Well The Cheat's not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
Cheat is not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
No, he's never been dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
Said The Cheat is not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
Whoaaa, dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
Whoa, he's not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
No, he's not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
No, he's not dead! (Cheat is not dead!)
No, The Cheat is not dead!
Cheat is not dead!

Unfortunately, yea, I have too many degrees to approve of plagiarism. that does NOT mean it didn't crack me the hell up in situ. [cuz it did].
[notice in the referenced thread, IIRC, I myself did somesuch previously but notified and disqualified myself from actual competition in doing so]

Dude, tell us what fields your degrees are in vraith; get it out man.
You've been dying to tell the Watch and you've been holding it in too long.
But then you after you do that, you have to change your avatar to a picture of StrongBad saying, "I can't believe how awesome I am!" to compensate. (JUST kidding!)
Also, if you've got so many degrees, then don't just "sit on your laurels" - stop being soooo intellectually-lazy when you debate me!
Or, as StrongBad would say:
Also, I LIKE the fact that the Watch is a place where people don't have to carefully hide their intelligence, but you take it too far, man...

Oh, and yes.
Also, I just want to pick up that picture of The Cheat and hug him.

Actually, it's:

I think Linna just insulted me and called me arrogant or something. [and slothful!]
That just makes you sound like...like...well, everyone I know, especially my close friends.
Just to be clear the appropriate response to the plagiarism sentence SHOULD have been the same as if I'd said "I have too many armed robbery convictions to approve of it." Something like "How stupid do you have to be that it takes more than ONE?"
Be careful...keep that up, and I'll do some hacking and your answering machine will start to sound like Marzipan's, and your only defense will be to move to MurFREESboro or some other primitive place.
But...I haven't been hiding anything...all that stuff is around somewhere, most of it in one maybe-too-much-info post in answer to someone's question once. And you don't have to worry that they matter, all in "Liberal Brainwashing Elitist" fields.
[which teen girl squad member ARE you anyway?]
Now that I know about you and strongbad, I'm gonna go spend my free time with salad fingers instead.
