Eurovision Song Contest - could Engelbert win?

Post by Iolanthe »

I thought it must be the 1st of April when I heard this on the radio this morning, but it isn't so it must be true. Engelbert Humperdinck, aged 75 (the singer not the composer who has been dead for some years) will represent the UK in the next Eurovision. Could he win?

Please release me, let me go................

I had the last dance with you........

As usual I shall tune in for the voting. Best programme of the year! :)

I think the UK gave up on trying to win a long time ago.

I'm not that keen on Eurovision any more. Graham Norton holds back too much, he's nothing compared to the increasingly drunken commentaries of Terry Wogan.

Sorry, I don't know who Adele is. Is she British? Don't follow today's pop stars much. Unless she's the one who won on the Brits the other night - I heard about her one finger gesture on the radio.

Agreed, TW was brilliant. I never watch the singing now, just the voting.

Two best things ever on Eurovision: Waterloo (Abba) and Riverdance, both seen live.
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

They were great.
Monsters, they eat
Your kind of meat
And they're moving as far as they can
And as fast as they can
