Happy cuz I got the teaching position I asked for for next year!!

And nauseous. It's been a barf-o-rama in Kindergarten and I might be the next to succumb. 8|

4am. 3 hours sleep. This time I dreamt my landlord got sited for condition of my house. He was renovating my home (which was huge) and throwing everything out. Everything. I had panthers in the attic.

I think I am losing my mind.

Anyone with panthers in their attic is awesome, in my mind, lorin. :)

Yeah, I was awake half the night and got up 4am to make coffee. (I woulda been up at 5 normally anyway.) Then I couldn't really drink it because it went down like battery acid.

The elementary school had its Creative Arts Fair this morning. Kids presented songs, stories, poems, dioramas, inventions, comic books, raps, dances, dramas, wow!! It was too cute. I'm glad I decided to tough it out today. :D

I'm feeling a mixture of embarassment at letting people down and warm fuzzies from witnessing how this place appreciates my presence.

Logged on for the first time in months to find a full inbox, half from beleagured dissection mods trying to clear up the spanner in the works (sorry guys  ), half from Watch friends (and spouse), expressing concern and wondering where I was.

Really heartwarming guys. It's good to be back! :D

Cambo!)

Glad to see you back, and hope you don't intend to disappear again :bestwishes:

And don't worry much about the dissection, it's going again and I think everyone here understands things like that happen

I spent a week dreaming I was a GRRM character during my last bout of sleep depravity... erm, deprivation. Not a character I liked, mind you. No idea what my subconscious was trying to tell me. 8O

Jenn calls that copier Damien. Jenn thinks positive reinforcement improves the copier's performance. That might work for Jenn; in fact, I have seen it work for Jenn.

I refer to that copier as an gremlin-infested Cylon cow, and threaten it with various forms of violence when it doesn't work properly.

I don't even remember where the cow part came from, but it was relevant at one point. I think. :screwy:

Goodness me, you never know what you're gonna get when you read this thread. Panthers in the attic (a standard inclusion in any dream interpretation book), Cylon cows (awww, Sorus, that's such a sweet moniker), new jobs (congrats deer!), new mouths ( Jenn), new sightings (WB Cambo, good on you for seeing the full in-box as concern, not stalking  )and itchy staples (hang in there Sarge).

Nothing anywhere near as exciting happening here. Except it's Saturday and it's capital S Sunny which after a rain-infested, flash flood prone excuse for a summer is rather a good thing. And, you know, I thought I'd spend it inside at the computer

Actually, I'm heading out for a swim soon. I bought a new speedo turbo suit the other day and I went like a rocket, which was annoying because fire came out my arse and I shot off into the sky when I was trying to do laps. No but really, it's great. It looks like this...

I just HAD to include this pic because this is TOTALLY how we swimmers look and EXACTLY how we stand just before we dive in the pool.
   And yes, that picture deserves a triple eye-roll!

Yes it's lovely isn't. I mean it's terribly important that a lady, even whilst engaged in the rough and tumble of sporting activities, continue to present an alluring, suitably feminine pose. And a perfectly accurate depiction of swimmers' arms and shoulders to boot. Yes, I quite agree, it's simply delightful.

Y'all are funny...
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor

After a rough start to my day I ended up in a pretty good mood and it was apparently rubbing off on the other employees. We were all being ridiculously silly towards the end of the night. Frankie (over our walkie talkie system) asked me to let him know when his wife got there so I responded with, "Sure Frankie, I can tell her you quit your job and ran off to Mexico with a stripper named Bambi, no problemo!" The customers in line were all looking at us funny because Nori, Max, Austin and Noe all busted out laughing at the same time. Nori looked out at the confused customers and said, "Our boss just said something really funny over the walkies." and the customers all smiled. We all joined in the lyric game tonight and it was great fun. I have Sorus to thank though for helping me get my head straight when I got to work. She listened to me, we talked and she helped me put things in perspective so that I could let it go and move on.

Cambo, nice to see you around again. Hugs to everyone today cuz I'm feeling generous!

I too started off the day in a silly mood. My phone alarm woke me up this morning, as usual, but I'd left the dam thing on the other side of the room. So I'm thinking, It's Saturday right, I'm definitely not getting up to switch the dam thing off. But then it made me laugh, because it went...
