Murrin, please don't do what my son did a few years ago. Having obvioulsy no idea that it was mother's day until my daughter presented me with her card, he then added insult to injury by informing me that, anyway, he was too old to need a mother :(
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Murrin wrote: I hate buying cards. Really hate it, especially for holidays so the stores are all packed with people. I get increasingly frustrated and angry the longer it takes to find something I like that isn't filled with the kind of insincere saccharine nonsense that I would never actually say to anyone myself. Cards are pointless when you're going up to someone and handing them a gift in person, but if you stop buying them people seem to take it the wrong way.
Totally agree.

Sorus/Jenn

I was just watching Diners, Drive ins and Dives and they were talking about some place in San Francisco called Dottie's True Blue. Their food looks amazing. Lots of really unique recipes. I want to go there!!!! Did you gals ever go there?

I haven't been but I will look it up. I can't really think about food right now though since I had a slightly traumatic experience at the dentist today. Turns out that I have sensitive teeth and the whitening agents ended up putting me into convulsions. Read my blog if you dare.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

I assume you thoroughly explained reality to him.

Finished editing and formatting the latest book a little while ago. I figured I'd be happy just finishing the editing today, so I'm really pleased that the formatting is done, too. :) Debating whether to upload it to Amazon now and get it over with, or wait 'til Tuesday like I said I would.

Woot woot!! Good for you, Ali. I just can't seem to find the time to write. Have two really good books started. Too many other projects that are more urgent.

No church for me and my daughter today. My husband went, but the police and soldiers have closed the roads so he had to walk about a half mile to the church. My daughter was nervous about going so I'm staying home with her. I just asked God, Please no bombs or killing today.

Yet, if there does end up being bombs or killing, I still believe God is in control. Why does He let people do evil things? Because He chooses not to dictate human events and choices. He gives us freedom to decide whether to love or hate. Love without choice isn't really love. He is love, so that's the way it is.

Sorry, that belongs in the Close, I suppose, but that's what's on my mind. :) My husband went to church where there is a possibility of a bomb going off in spite of all the police and soldiers and wariness. But I also believe that a person isn't going to live one moment beyond their destined time by being cautious, and no one can take your life away before that time, either. So I'm not worried even if there is a question mark floating around in my mind. That's life....

No, I just stopped doing certain things for him, and when he suddenly didn't have any clean clothes for work he did regret what he had said. He's now a father of 3, and a damn good one - and I have two Mothers Day cards this year :D

I have that too. The sensitivity goes away in a day or so. My dentist says the pores in the enamel open up during whitening. I got the custom trays so I can control the amount of whitening thereby control the ouch.

feel better.

Good point.
But yeah, one of my first thoughts on seeing your post was the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) route like Menolly mentioned...

julie's son does not acknowledge any holidays. (he has told some girls that she is dead) so what i do is buy her a card/presents for mother's day and have our dog (sonny) sign for/present them to her.

some examples : he has bought for - a sapphire/diamond gold bracelet, blue topaz silver bracelet, yellow topaz/diamond earing/ring/necklace set (his birthstone), nightgown with doggies on it say says 'doggone best mom.'

Ah, children. I am glad I have cats. Despite the fact that I spent the entire day at the vet yesterday, and Mara needs dental work done.
