when i first moved to texas i stocked groceries overnight. the water aisle was one of mine and the last one in the store we stocked. furthest from everything else...

one night there was a horrible odor onthe water aisle. spoiled meat. found it behind some water jugs. a pack of liver. turns out the stickers are removable and liver is cheap. so people would grab the liver and a steak, swap labels and leave the liver for me to find all the time.

they would also do whippits in the bathroom and we would have to clean that up.

Gonna frame it. Unfortunately I left it uncovered when I went for a swim this arvo and evil Sharkie (cat #1) clawed it. Can't see the damage in this photo and a bit of touch-up paint will fix, but still, she is such a HORROR of a cat. And of course completely adorable.

Sorry you leg hurts Sarge.

Some years back, a cat of mine decided that climbing on a box of first press records in protective plastic sleeves was a good place to jump on and use as a clawing place. He clawed the tops of all the covers till they were confetti. He was such a sweet kitty, though. I couldn't be mad at him for being a cat.

I have a new great niece, born at 4.45 this afternoon. Isla Maria. This is the 5th great niece/nephew on my side of the family, and my little sister's 9th grandchild! She is actually cheating as her husband's daughters have 4 of them :D

Eugh. My hours have been cut at work. No calls for any other permanent shifts. Looking for a second job. Am now a regular at a local coffeehouse open mic. Took a wine making class. Gonna get a tat next weekend.

Bam.

started bleeding from where one of the staples was. we've been spraying it with peroxide. the scar area is lightly infected.

I had that trouble, but not so long after the staples came out. It cleared up, but the scar is a bit lumpy where it oozed and scabbed. Good luck!

When I had my gallbladder out, the staples pulled out from one of the incisions. I have two (three?) pencil-thin scars and one "OMG, what happened??" scar. Hope you're feeling better, Sarge.

Congrats, Iolanthe!

Jaz: Hang in there...

Shaun: Nice job with the puzzle!

Magickmaker's body pulled an April Fool's joke on her -- and me. She started having abdominal pain last night. She got a little sleep, but the pain woke her up. Just before 4am, she woke me up and asked me to take her to the ER. Like a good mom, I did it. Sounded a little like a gallstone to me, but she wasn't writhing on the floor (which is what I did when *I* had gallstones), so I wasn't sure. Anyhow, the ER folks diagnosed probable acid reflux and sent her home. I got back to bed around 8am and slept until nearly noon. She's still sleeping. She's supposed to go to work this afternoon, but I guess we'll see how it goes.
