Deer, hugs to you.

I can tell I'm exhausted. My tolerance levels were very low today and my ability to filter myself was next to nil. I had things come out of my mouth today that even shocked myself. I'll post about it in my blog but most of it will be spoilered and I suggest if you are faint of heart or easily offended by pure unadulterated crass offensive statements and or statements that are the exact opposite of politically correct I suggest you skip the post. Keep in mind that most of what I said was only in the presence of Caitlin and I only was rude to two customers today. One was pitching a fit about service pricing and claimed she was told on the phone that the service was only 25 cents. The other was a crackhead shoplifter whom I watched attempting to steal stuff.

Done with jury duty. We ended up acquitting the guy due to reasonable doubt, but I don't think anyone was satisfied with the outcome. :?

And I've had major allergies all week, so I am either allergic to the air in the courtroom, or to lawyers.

Got home late and found that my horde guild had waited for me even though this is only the third time I have raided with them and they don't have a shortage of healers.

So I'm killing dragons instead of doing laundry, which I will regret tomorrow, but I need this right now.

You're not gonna call me a traitor? :P

Nah, they've gotten plenty of DW kills without me. There's a progression team working on heroics and at least one alt group. I was surprised they waited for me because I signed up tentative and told the leader I would probably be late and not to wait for me.

Come with us. There is only one friend coming for the road trip part and two more added on in Santa Fe.. I got a 2 bdrm apt in the Hilton for Santa Fe so there is plenty of room for you. Seriously, come.

I feel pretty good this morning. Pain in my back is minimal, I am done with that STUPID vegan fast which did nothing for me except add carbs, chicken tonight!!!!!! Only glitch is mother's day tomorrow. NOT a good time for me, actually a very bad time for me sooooo I plan to stay buried for the day, in a book or movie or something. Or I will spend the day with my fingers in my ears

Have a great trip, lorin! Never been to the balloon festival, despite all the years that my ex-m-i-l spent, trying to get us to go.

Gonna go see "Dark Shadows" in a while. Probably will spend much of the rest of the weekend knitting. I'm trying to finish a new tank top so I can wear it to Shara_Lunison's MFA commencement next weekend. 8)

Tired. Worked till midnight last night, all this morning, went to a meeting this afternoon and brought back 3 more loads. Don't know which to start on first. What I really need is a nice cup of rosie.

Yesterday was actually... exciting and interesting, oddly enough, even though I was dealing with some challenging problems.. I was going and dealing with them, and get to rely on other competent people.
Today, I am actually crazily stressed because I have to make decisions about everyday things..
I've lost my laundry room keys.. I worry, "Should I drive out elsewhere, or ask a neighbor to let me in?"
"Should i do laundry at a coin laundromat this morning or bake bread?" (solving this one by letting myself run out of time to go do laundry)
"How should I communicate with this new potential student who reads as having bad boundaries?"
"Should I take my kids to a last-minute birthday party organized by a stressed friend, or call a different friend and put the kids for a nap?"
"Where is my ISP bill? ...that's really late."

Oh, before I forget- DEER! That is ick!
When I saw your post yesterday, that was a moment when I felt kind of glad that various emoticons existed.

Please post a short review of what you think. I'm a fan of the original show, and watched the reboot several years ago, but from what I saw of the trailer, this movie just looks too campy. Nor what I think of when I think of Dark Shadows.

Also, if you feel it is worth seeing, could you say if the big screen is necessary? Or if you think it would transfer well to DVD.

Thanks, ali!

Here I am, home alone again, for the second time in a few weeks. C has gone south for his aunt's funeral tomorrow. I couldn't go as I'm booked to give a talk tomorrow night and he's not coming home till Tuesday.

Been on duty all afternoon at our research rooms, and came home looking forward to my frozen dinner - roast beef, Yorkshire pud, roast potatoes, peas, carrots and gravy - and found it in the fridge. C did the shopping on his own yesterday as I had to go to a meeting, and of course packed it away when he got home. My fault, I should have checked. Now I have to wait until it freezes before I can cook it - no instructions for cooking from chilled. Already had one chocolate macaroon to keep me going so I'll just have to go hungry for an hour or three. :(

Thanks, Linna. I spent some of the day dwelling and adding to the goodbye post. Then the next hours thinking about the foster kids and feeling sorry for myself.....then I said.......wtf, get over it. Maybe I'm no one's mom but life isn't over yet. And then I moved on. Went for a nice walk in the bird sanctuary, went to dinner with some friends I met in Lon gisland, ate paella and my specialty, kale mango salad, drank some wine and I am ok. My mother made her choices and I made mine...life goes on.

I wonder how SRD feels on father's day.

Both his kids have moved out of New Mexico so I imagine kinda lonely.

Went out to Alpine Lake in Marin today. Saw two snakes, a giant dragonfly, some unusual looking ducks I didn't recognize and a Momma Mallard duck with ten tiny fresh hatched babies. There were also some great big crows and turkey buzzards in the sky.

Went to the zoo today myself. (Lot of looking at animals going on in here, eh?) Saw a huge grizzly playing in the pool, some orangutans doing what they do, and a whole lot of the backs of sleeping animals. Was nice.

Though a whole lot of my favourite pictures came out blurry or covered by reflections on the enclosure glass.

Happy to. 8) Don't judge the movie by the trailer -- it's awesome. I had the same reaction to the trailer that you did, but the movie itself is awesome. Lots of fun.

Dunno that I loved it enough to insist that you see it in the theater. There are some pretty good special effects, but the small(er) screen ought to do 'em justice. Up to you. :)

Magickmaker took me out for breakfast this morning *and* gave me flowers. Batty called to say happy Mother's Day. Then I went to book club, then I went grocery shopping, then I came home. *Still* trying to get that bloody lamp mounted on the ceiling -- I've figured out a system but of course I didn't buy all the parts I needed while I was out yesterday. Hopefully it'll be up and working by the time we leave for Roanoke Friday morning.
