I don't think the film 'Funny Bones' could have been made without Lee Evans. For those who've never seen it give yourselves a treat. A great cast and a truly bizarre story and aray of charachters set in a sort of non-existant Blackpool of the fifties. The only film I have ever seen where the high point of the film (and what a high point!) is literally the final shot of the film.

(Actually on reflection there may be one or two more - Thelma and Louise, Angel Baby, The Mission (where Jeremy Irons goes over a huge waterfall tied to a cross if I remember correctly). Anyways it's a good trick to pull off. Can we allow a sub-thread to name a few films that manage this.)

No Sarge. Sorry - that's just me going walkabout again. I got sidetracked into thinking about films where the high point of the film was the last shot of the film in terms of emotional punch. Would the cliff dive at the end of T & L qualify as this?

I thought it was Deniro that went over the falls.

I looked it up, it was neither, it was a missionary that was martyred by the natives.

... and it was at the beginning of the film, not the end, but definitely a memorable shot (which could be a thread unto itself).

Rob Schneider in 50 First Dates. (I thought it was Cheech Marin all this time!) Image
Sean Astin showed he could hold his own in a comic role, too.

I've seen Cheech Martin in a few films but only heard one Cheech and Chong albumn - The Wedding Albumn - which was very, very funny.

Martin Short in Innerspace, Quaid was a great foil but only somebody like, perhaps, Robin Williams of the day, could have pulled that off... :D

Peter Sellers in almost anything Peter Sellers ever did... Clouseau, Dr. Strangelove, etc., etc.
