I have several friends that have done the Daniel-fast with great success. It is basically a three week vegan fast with prayer / meditation. It is based on Daniel's fast in the bible. I am not a religious person but recently I have begun integrating some meditation into my life and thought I would use this as an opportunity to realign my thoughts and my metabolic system. It's only for 3 weeks and I should be able to do it. I'm going to begin on Monday. Anyone want to do it with me?

I think the religious part is the hardest part of the diet for me.

This sounds so interesting and challenging.
Being the shopper and cook for Dam-sel and Dam-et makes this pretty much unworkable, though. Even my attempts to shift the household diet in a lower-carb direction have not been greatly embraced.
Change is hard...which I guess is why currency is so popular.

Well, the diet was no problem. But no weight loss. I guess the lack of structure (quantities and qualities of food) was not good for me. You can eat your days calories in nuts and tofu. But it was nice to know I could do it. Didn't drink enough water and didn't meditate so maybe I didn't really benefit from the diet. It was healthy food, though. Only thing I missed was coffee.Savor Dam wrote:Excuse the double-post...but please tell us how this turned out, lorin!
