Ancestors are no different than gods except in terms of strength. An ancestor can become as strong as a first tier god. But, this depends on what the prophet does to strengthen the ancestor. If the prophet can get many people to worship the ancestor, then the ancestor gains in strength.
Does that help?

There was something I was thinking of as I was processing turns.
The gods in this game are not like the gods in Pantheon. Rather, they are more like the gods of ancient Greece. They have emotions, they make mistakes, they get angry, have affairs, etc.
Like Acropolis, your gods are gods after all. They have power and can do anything. So, don't feel you need to restrict your gods actions.

Which is why I was asking.
I'm not one for understanding costs and details like this in-game. Do I say I spend TP/PP/DP on doing such, or do I need to go through the Builders Guild, raise funds, et. al., via turn submissions?
Don't let yourself get bogged down with how many gold pieces something is going to cost.
You might want to use your PP's to get some of the wealthier residents of Twinsriver to donate money to your stage but it isn't necessary.
If you simply state that you want to build a stage in the center of town, other than getting approval from the council of elders, I would say go for it.
