Did I forget to mention that I draw my inspiration for MY from "the silk-monkey" (silkesapa) from "Comet in Moominland."
(Kometjakten / Mumintrollet på kometjakt / Kometen kommer ? * )

So the dialog goes something like this:
"oooh! ---a shiney crown!"
*quickly grabs up the crown, not knowing it's rightfully hers, and climbs up into a tree to attempt to hide the crown away*
"Hey, who are you people?"
*looks around herself in confusion, off-balance*
"Is there something all these people said to me?"
"Well, let's see what they do if I throw pieces of fruit at them."
*proceeds to pick pieces of fruit and throw them at the loyal subjects*
(Explanation: wait a couple more days... dealing with lots of RL stuffffff..)
* I have no idea what I'm writing here; I'm really just copying it from Wikipedia.

"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor
"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"

"Ooh look - a piece of paper! What does it say?"
The royal reader (why a kingdom ruled by a monkey would require a royal reader is anybody's guess!) asks "Shall I read it?"
The silk-monkey draws the paper away, hiding it behind her back, eyes him suspiciously, and asks, "Why should I let you?"
"You wanted it read, your Highness."
"Oh, yes! I do! Read it nowww!" she screeches impertinently.
"I can not see it, your Highness."
She drops it to him, with "You'd better give it back to me, though!"
Upon receiving the paper, the Royal Reader reads from a letter of some sort:
"To illustrate the cover of 'The Power that Preserves,' I require you to have actually read part of the book this time - not the whole book, now - nothing that extreme! Just a chapter or excerpt.
Choose one of the following scenes to illustrate:
Covenant being healed by little gleams in the Morrinmoss forest
The Unfettered Healer in the Morrinmoss forest"
Looking up, the Reader comments, "It appears that someone was commissioning an artist…"
The subjects look up expectantly.
"Youuu! Draw one of …these… thingys!"

Well, that's an interpretation I never thought of!

I wonder why nobody has deigned to grace this thread with the obligatory ponies yet. See, not that difficult:
My little Foul, My little Foul
Muaah-haah-haah-haah
My little Foul
I used to wonder what despite could be
My little Foul
Until I shared its malice with ye
Plots and venture
Time undone
A treacherous heart
Faithless and wrong
...

(Sorry I took so long, you guys!)

"This one, this one, this one!" screeches the Monkey, gesturing at the Spongebob-and-blue-sparkles-bedecked picture.
And thus Effaeldm dons the hat of the Monkey!

"I... I have to read it again. A few times. Could I really win over that?"
*But proceeds to change the form, several times ending up as something more fitting for Bad Illustrating models, finally ending up in the form of an unreal-looking monkey, like the ones in the Chinese calendars*
"Ahh... I won't keep you waiting, I'm so eager to see the ew... new images!"
"I so love stories when several worlds and mythologies cross, and I want something for a friend I want to see again."
"An ur-vile - or many of them - in some other place, other world."
"You're free to think of anything you like and take anyone else together with them. Will it be a depiction of them visiting Illidan in the World of Warcraft for a consultation about their Weird? Or will they be led by Linden to the ancient times before the events in the Lord of the Rings to see how worlds are made? Or maybe they'll visit some world a bit closer - to study the inheritance of the Regals, or to sort out a Gap drive - if they don't get caught and sorted out themselves instead."
"Take any of these ideas, invent any others, make multiple entries - everything is welcome! "
