I watched the ToD with my 9 year old son and he thought it was great, which made it great to me.
I enjoyed Temple of Doom when I was in like 2nd or 3rd grade, and I haven't seen more than a few seconds of it since. I barely remember anything but I still think of it as a great movie because it was clever enough to slip in while I was stupid enough to love it, but unmemorable enough for me to remember enough of it to realize it was bad later. I think the only things I remember about the movie are
-Something involving him narrowly saving his fedora from some kind of death-by-room hazard.
-Isn't there some crazy dude with swords?
-At some point at the end of the movie they escape outside the temple, and are at some kind of bridge/precipice. There is a sort of canyon river deal. I don't remember if all the villains were dead by this point or not.
Sounds like the makings of a wonderful movie to me!
When you people were talking about Short Round, I assumed he was from Crystal Skull or something until I googled him and found out he was in Temple of Doom.
I did vote Crystal Skull, but my hatred of the movie is significantly less than some, though I still enjoy hearing my friends echo the complaints of Stan and Kyle regarding Lucas and Spielberg's perverse criminality against their childhood.
