I went to see this today with SD and Dam-sel, after we dropped Dam-et off at a meet-up. Because of timing, we saw the 3-D version, but for once the 3-D did not detract from the film for me. I wouldn't say it really added much, but it was not a detraction in anyway.

I totally agree with ali's assessment; the story is about the relationship between a mother and her daughter, and how they come to understand and accept each other. It touched my heart in all the right places. Plus, I tend to like nearly anything having to do with Celtic themes.

...and it's PIXAR. I've yet to have many complaints about a PIXAR film.

Is it 'Braveheart' done in animation with female leads (and a bit of Boudicca thrown in). If so that will do it for me - I'm in!
President of Peace? You fucking idiots!

'Of course - you know you have.'

I would answer, if I had ever seen Braveheart.

Perhaps ali or SD know that answer to that one.

No, Brave is in no way related to Braveheart, other than both are about Scots...and the Scots in Brave are broadly characterized, to put it politely.

Enjoyed the movie, but once out of the theater, I would not confuse the portrayals with anything real.

Pixar did do a great job of ribbing their late founder and benefactor in this movie though...

They did?

That must have soared right past me, or I have forgotten to what you are referring.
