Anyone else find this show hilarious? We've been watching it for a week or two now on Netflicks, catching up on all the old episodes. He's a likable idiot/douchebag. And the gang of misfit office support personnel are pretty funny, too.
And then the news of the Secret Service scandal broke, just as my household acquired a new cultural reference to describe such antics. I told my wife, "God, those agents went all Archer down in Columbia." Not that it makes the scandal funny, rather, it's kind of pathetic that those idiots mirror the ridiculousness of cartoon secret agents. But I digress ...

Seen a couple of episodes, and I agree with the consensus- it's laugh out loud stuff.

Definitely! I love this show, too - not sure what the Magnum P.I. reference in the BC episode is about, (only seen a couple of re-runs of it in recent years) but that is still my favourite episode. The 'Family Feud' scene nearly brings a tear to my eye, just thinking about it! (somewhat cruel scene, I suppose, but still, they did it well!)
So many great episodes in that show - no 'filler' episodes at all. My favourite cartoon+American comedy, no question

There was an episode of Magnum PI where he kills the bad guy in cold blood after asking, "Did you see the sunrise this morning?" It mirrors Archer's scene where he asks, "Did you see Regis this morning," shot-by-shot.
This video blends the two moments.
I remember watching the Magnum PI episode when it aired. It was a pretty big deal. Season finale, or something. Magnum was a likeable guy who wouldn't just kill someone in cold blood, but this bad guy was a real dick, and I was rooting for Magnum to go ahead and do it, thinking, "You can't just let him walk away!" And when he shoots him, with that classic one-liner that makes him seem all thoughtful/poetic and badass at the same time, it was a stand up and cheer moment, for sure. I had completely forgotten about it until I saw the Archer episode. It was a weird moment of nostalgia and deja vu, like pulling something out of my own subconsciousness. I can't believe someone decided to do a parody of such an obscure--but classic--TV moment.
[Edit: correction ... after checking IMBD, I see it was the season opener of S3.]
