Aren't ya glad you realized Blood needed to be drawn ;)

And how funny several us voted for Dudley's Horse, rather than Dudley himself, LOL

Heh. Horse always.

My starting place was with Linden as Nell, but while I ended up using some aspects of her obsessing over Horse, the overall conceit just did not work, Then, in true Donaldsonian fashion, I combined the Linden as Nell concept with the Father of Horses idea that crossed my mind...and found my muse.

Of course, it did not measure up with the inspiration that was Menolly's use of Taz...but we all know she is Looney Tunes anyway. :grinlove:

I think all the story executions were inspired, and too well done for me to choose, that's why I had to fall back on "Character Love"

aww...

y'all say the sweetest things.

Truth:
I really doubted my ability to write a story. The concept jumped out at me immediately upon reading the challenge, but I honestly felt I couldn't do the concept justice. I verbally shared the idea with SD, and he said he really liked it.

It still didn't convince me to post though.

Someone with a user name I do not know then PM'd me, offering to help run story ideas by me. For some reason I trusted this poster, and shared my concept. In writing it out, I realized it was the synopsis Ebony Squire suggested I post, instead of trying to realize an all out story. I admit, ali's submission, followed by SD's, still caused me to hesitate, but the poster also responded to the concept with kind words, and I basically cut and pasted the way I wrote it out in that PM in to the thread, and hoped for the best.

My thanks for the kind words regarding it. Even though I do feel all of the storytelling of the other entries was much better executed.

Well, as some already know, I cheated a little) Was too hard to pick just one. I did intend to, but while I was at that, the end of voting arrived, well, I avoided the need to choose.

ebony_squire, your entry was worthy, it was only that all the entries were worthy... Hopefully we'll see you in other contests)

Congrats to everyone else) :bestwishes: Very glad all the survivors posted after all, as should be clear from my words above, I enjoyed it all thoroughly))

Though I think my answer about eating dead for bread was technically very correct

The Test of Quagmire
  • Image

Then the young Ranyhyn bearing Tull lost control. It whinnied in fear, whirled and sprang toward the blue pool.

The Ranyhyn crashed into the chest-deep water. At once, it gave a squeal of pain that almost matched the screaming in the air. Plunging frantically, it heaved itself out of the quagmire.

It champed its teeth and jerked its head from side to side in agony. Under its coat all the flesh of its limbs and belly was covered with blisters and boils. Blood streamed from its sores. Through some of them, the bone was visible. Despite the determination in its eyes, it whimpered at the pain.
In this Test, the Survivors must ask themselves, what would Quagmire do?
  • Image
Each Survivor must create a limerick. The limerick must be about "Lord Quagmire", and how he would survive the Sarangrave. Lord Quagmire must be based on the Glenn Quagmire character in the TV show Family Guy. There's plenty of internet out there dedicated to Quagmire, so consider ramping up part of your task. You can write as many verses of limerick as you like, but of course you must write at least one.

Contestants will be judged based on humor, wit, Quagmire lore, and their understanding of the post-modernist deconstruction of the family unit that is Family Guy.

Seperately, the Staff of Immunity will be awarded to the person who can send to me, via PM, the best answers to these Chronicles questions:
  1. Which ediface had three rear entrances?
  2. What does Donaldson call "the only truly human form of power"?
  3. Who is Higgins O'Higgins?
When all the entries are in, the audience will vote for the Survivor whom they consider to have surpassed the others in this contest. Then the winner of the Staff of Immunity will be revealed. The Survivor with the least number of votes will leave the Sarangrave with a cash prize of 10 WGD. However, the Survivor who has won the Staff of Immunity cannot be voted off. The remaining three Survivors will move on to the next Test.

I would like to start voting next week. So get those entries in, Survivors!

Will be difficult to vote. Tried to watch this show *once*, and got fed up with the ugly animation and jokes that flew past my comprehension on the spot. Not that I'm much of a fan of Simpsons, etc. either.

Not being a television watcher, and only seeing a passing glance of the above mentioned show, I think I'm in serious trouble here...

Indeed. Add to that the reputation that she has as as a permanent presence on the internet, and one cannot help but conclude that she has ample resources to look into this cartoon and learn what she needs to know.

Then there is the historic record of her past submissions of limericks during prior Win Wayfriend's Money contests...

But success in previous rounds don't carry forward in the next rounds, eh?

I stand corrected. The limericks in question were composed by another (I am pointedly not naming names)...but the WGD they garnered ended up in her account.

Not that the disposition of the WGD means much. All WGD eventually end up either with her or a certain other Watcher who is even more brazen in seeking them from any and all.

I recommend to keep in mind that the spoiler is there for a reason, and the reason is not giving away some Last Chrons info.
Spoiler
There was this Lord Quagmire who gave
Not a f*** about great Sarangrave.
Found his ways of desire
No much good in a mire
And got screwed by Lifeswallower's grave.

So it went to be shown for Quagmire,
Unexpected is the lusty fire,
He thought no one to romp
Could just lurk in a swamp.
For the Lurker - to what to aspire.

Me too. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen "Family Guy". Might as well just knock me out of the contest right now...
