Interesting. I don't believe I've ever seen that usage before.
It's probably on forums or e-mail lists that... involve a lot of moms. (?)

I read an e-mail list associated Flylady.net - it's focused on decluttering and house-cleaning and stuff.

DS-7 would be "dear 7-year-old son." And of course there's DH and DD.
Other abbreviations that baffled me at first included SAHM (stay-at-home-mom).

They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.

I've seen DS, DH and the like. Don't care for the usage much, myself. But I've seen it. :P

Fortunately, I've read enough posts of yours that imply that Holsety-children is a hypothetical future possibility you're not precisely considering any time soon...
so my reaction was confusion rather than "oh my, he lost his kid... but now he's found him!"
Bahahaha! Well it was almost that bad. All that progress I put into that machine down the toilet!

"Ah! We lost my dear son for a few months...but we found him, in a drawer!"
Holsety wrote:So, as it turns out, spioler tags doesn't work on images and emoticons on this board? I never knew that before. Well, you can fist clench me anyway if this post is full of too many stupid images or usage of emoticons.

I found my DS, which I thought was lost, about 2 weeks ago

OK it's under control they're all dead!

I'm finding the pictures and emoticons amusing rather than annoying, but you clearly put some of this on the wrong thread! ;)

The main idea was that the "fist clenching" was ultimately the victorious thumbs up and sign of the horns surrounding the guys doing their dance (who also seemed like they might be fist flenching). So, that it was...a play on words/pictures that may have been kind of...bad.

And just in case you didn't find out, DS or NDS is just one of the handheld gaming consoles released by nintendo, standing for "dual screen."

For me, that acronym would very likely be NASCIH. :(

So, I know it's off-topic from the flow of conversation, but.. major fist-unclenching:

* I prayed to be able to tutor students through specific math classes (ones that would be fun/interesting/challenging for ME) this summer (and also did a few things necessary so people could find me) - it looks like I get to tutor all those subjects!
...AND I've got even more than I bargained for. 8O

* This week probably also will mark me getting back up to the desired number of hours of tutoring work after self-sabotage + summer dropped my hours a few weeks ago!

* My husband bought this for my kid to put together:
(he just finished)
toy wooden helicopter

* Also, I lived through THREE significant challenges yesterday, any ONE of which would have probably pretty well freaked me out 5 years ago.

I am glad things are improving for you, Linna. And to add to your accomplishments, you are the clear front runner in the bad illustration contest, too.

You really don't understand this whole Fantasy online Persona thing, do you :P

Seriously Ali, you ride around on a Pegasus, in an outfit that would make Xena and the Giantesses blush with thighs that could crack a walnut, and you say NASCIH for hooking up with a Romance Novel cover model?????? :P I hope that's because you can't tolerate their empty heads, and not lack of confidence

Linna, thank you for those beautiful pictures.

I was going to come in here (mistaking it for the Fist Shaking Thread!! ) and rant about stupid selfish jerks who drink too much and ruin people's lives around them, and that having spent several years watching a person close to me's life be dragged through a circle of hell I am now going to have to go through something very similar with someone even closer to me.... D-:<

But those birds remind me that something greater is going on all around me, all the time.
