Thomas Covenant TV Series

Post by VainDM »

Since the Thomas Covenant movie is looking like its dead in the water how about a Thomas Covenant TV series? Sort of a Spartacus Blood and Sand type of compilation?

Anyone think this would be a good idea and is it feasible?

It would all depend on who produced and directed, and for Heaven's sake awesome casting.

The Legend Of The Stripper, I mean Seeker, held so much promise at the beginning, but just fell apart. (To be fair, so did the book series, but the TV series managed to fall apart in one season, not 4 or 5 books.)

Since I don't watch a lot of TV I couldn't make a recommendation. One of the better Sci-Fi series directors might do it justice. Maybe. Or, I might have to kill myself.

Honestly, I'd prefer a TV series over movies. There is no way you'd be able to do the books any justice by cramming them into 2 or 3 hour films.

Funny, I was just thinking about this the other day: Spartacus-like Covenant series. But I was thinking a Kevin-era series would be neat. You know, The Council of Lords and Land in the height of their glory. I think it would work. And if it did, that would pave the way (possibly) for some movies or series for Covenant.

But I could totally see Kevin as sort of the arrogant playboy type, having scandalous liaisons with beautiful lady Lords and whatnot. And then you have a-Jeroth there as his right hand plotting against him. Plus swords and sorcery and majestic landscapes, etc. That's good television.
