Menolly won't play this game if it is in Mallorys? That's just plain weird :screwy:

Stevie G! None of your answers, bar one, match mine! Are you trying to drive me insane! Is your incondign mastery of this game so complete that you can afford to toy with the other contestants? Are you too a minion of the Fiend? I need answers one way or the other :hairs:

I too do not understand the Menolly Mallory's allorgy  (Or should that be the Menolly Mallory allory? Or the Menolly Mallory's allegory? Or the folly of Menolly's Mallory's allorgy allegory? Is this catching? 8O

The Menolly Mallory aversion
Runs counter to her Watch immersion
But for White Gold she yearns
Which there she can’t earn
And there is no Token conversion
Yes, I am an alt

U, I think that perhaps you put more thought into your answers than me

But it's fun to mess with you

DPJ/SD perhaps that's it! The Menolly Mallory allergy (enter Vraith/u discussion  ) could be due to non accumulation of WGDs. Maybe we should do away with all the token stuff - it was more for when Mallorys was flooded every day. These days you'd be lucky to see half a dozen posts a day in it. And who cares if null owns the Watch?

P.S. The token thing sufficiently explains Menolly's Mallory's Mallorgy's

You are correct. It also has negative connotations associate with 'mal', so the debauchery might be quite unclassy, the stores would be Wallmortgy and the shopping experience generally demorallorgising.

A menollorgy is something quite different altogether (and with careful regard to the Lady's reputation, we shall not speak of it here).

There is also a very specific organic compound called:
6-tri-benzo-follmallmenollallegorallorgy-bichloride
that causes people with spare WGDs to contribute them towards a grand folly.

This is not to be mixed up with
4-penta-benzo-follmallmenullallegorallorgy-trichlorate
which causes a person to be unable to stop themselves going off-topic and posting seemingly random pictures and graphics in a vaguely humourous way.

I'm going to stop now. The people in the white coats are insisting that I give ussusimiellorgy back his laptop and that I take the cupfullorgy of pillorgys that they are holldorginging. Bye 8O

ullorgy.

Btw, I asked for extra time before... but now I say... nahh, I'm not going to be entering.

They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."

I got three contestants so far: ussusimiel, deer of the dawn, and StevieG. (aliantha, post an entry with eight numbers if you want to be in.) If anyone else wants to enter, do it by Wednesday.

Could I request that after the last entries are in that we be given a chance, as a group, to answer your mindbenders. It'll give us a chance to see if the mass is better than the individual (and to let people see that I've returned to my usual level of sanity after that little orgiastic verbal outbreak ).

Okay, the contest is closed.

I won't post the winner or the answers for a few days, so that everyone can have fun discussing what the answers might be.

Discuss!

Okay, here are the wayfiendish clues again.

I think I know the first one:
  • There's a song for a conunction one.
Think 1st Chronicles. Think of a type of person who has a song for them (not Kevin). Then remember that 'conjunction' means 'joining', so 'conunction' could mean (in its way too cleverly fiendish manner) the opposite i.e 'broken' or 'unjoined'. (10 letters)

For the second one:
  • Sounds like something you would squeeze from a pimple.
I immediately thought of 'pus' and a word that I read for the first time in the Chronicles (25 years ago 8O ). It has to do with the quality of light at dusk (or dawn) (11 letters).

No. 3:
  • A reason for cold feet.
Had only one idea about this and it didn't feel particularly enlightened. Anybody else any bright ideas?

No. 4:
  • One night, dated the regional manager of the Scranton branch of a paper distribution company.
This still has me foxed 8O

No. 5:
  • Use of a low grade laminate.
Using Google I found out about 'Formica' and there's really only one SRD standout for this. I think it's from Mordant's Need. (Just realised as well that the Italian word 'formica' fits into the phrase nicely as well. Oh that SRD! (And that wayfiend  )) (11 letters.)

No. 6:
  • Won't stick to an EMT.
Again had only one idea that didn't feel that bright. To do with sticky stuff in the 1st Chronicles (but couldn't really fit the EMT in). (7 letters.)

No. 7:
  • How Snowy frequently passes the time.
I know Tintin was mentioned but I couldn't get past the 1st Chronicles and snow-related associations. (7 letters.)

No. 8:
  • Angry Birds bare them.
1st Chronicles again. There are some fairly angry bird-like creatures in there and (I think) they 'bear' other creatures on their backs at times. (7 letters.)

Hints and guesses welcome. Let's see if we can't thwart the fiend
