Tonight I am doing what I am calling "respite care." Although 19, Dam-et is not ready to be left alone overnight, and he prefers having someone with him during the day to help communicate with his caregivers, with his hearing deficiency. Dam-sel has been staying with him 24/7, except for the occasional meal break or walk, since Tuesday afternoon. So, tonight and tomorrow I am staying with him and giving SD and Dam-sel a chance to be with each other, let their own guard down, and turn to each other.

At least, that was the plan. Turns out they need to go to Dam-et's dorm, pack it up, and clean it out tomorrow, since the dorms for the next term open on Sunday and it appears there is no way Dam-et will be able to return in a timely manner this term. Not with chemo suppressing his immune system and the risk of infection that entails.

*sigh*

No rest for the weary.

I pray this journey strengthens.
