I'll find something. Just have to give it more thought instead of throwing links until something sticks.

It's really unusual mash ups of songs from the past five decades and it rocks out. They are a dj group based out of SF. For your first taste I recommend best of bootie cd 2011, track four Queen of Atlanta. Trust me.

I was stopped at a stoplight on my way home and glanced up in the rear view mirror and the guy behind me was leaning out of his car window taking a pic of the back of my jeep and I was all like, "What? why?..." and then realized, duh death star tire cover.... :D

Glen Hansard of the Swell Season was in the Frames and the movie the Commitments.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glen_Hansard

the Frames are amazing. most of the backing band for the Swell Season is actually the Frames.

Bob Mould was in Husker Du and Sugar.

 That used to happen to us back in the years when Shrub was in office. I had a "Voldemort/Malfoy '04" sticker on the back of my car.

I just nuked all the spam threads. Hope nobody was attached to their posts in 'em. ;) I spent all day today writing, after a morning running errands: got the car inspected, got my hair cut (FINALLY!), etc. The car needs to be re-inspected Monday after they replace one of the front headlight mounts. The guy said it's cracked in the back. I'm pretty sure I know how it happened, too -- the trim on the front of the car doesn't give much in the way of clearance, and sometimes I forget and pull too far forward over a curb, and then pulling back over it pulls the front of the car out of shape. :( Other than that, I still love the car....

Sarge, I hope the find out what ails you soon. :fx:

Shaun, never fear, I'll still be voting for Wool in the next book club poll. :)

Ali - how will Sarge ever regain his posts you nuked? :)

So far the doctor has no idea what is wrong, but he has excluded some bad things.

Good to hear. :) And I have no doubt that Sarge will catch up without a problem. It will probably take him all of 15 minutes.

I'm back. Great weekend - AGM, 5 lectures and banquet Saturday, 5 lectures today, home in just over 4 and a half hours - not bad. C not in. At least the dog had missed me judging by his welcome.

I also had a relaxing weekend and discovered I was actually bored. That doesn't happen to me a lot, but I'm starting to mentally pack my bags already. My daughter came out of her room a couple of days ago carrying a jar of Nutella-- it appeared to me as a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream!! I knew then I'm really jonesing for the US. There's just nothing to do here besides work, read, listen to music or watch something. I enjoy all those things but would love a stroll in some woods or something once in a while...

I did write a new short story and put the draft in the Hall of gifts, here: The Girl in the Water. :) Enjoy.

I got my errands run and then rewarded myself with a super indulgent prime rib dinner. I had mixed green salad with blue cheese dressing, prime rib rare with sour cream and horseradish, sweet potato bites which are essentially tater tots made from sweet potatos and then topped it off with salted caramel mousse cake. Don't worry, I only ate half of everything so I have the same meal for lunch tomorrow. 8) And yes, the prime rib was so tender that I didn't even need a knife.... yummers..

Dude, it was OFF THE HOOK! Even half was too much but I just couldn't stop eating and yes I brought the fat home too for the Mooseman. It was one of those moments where I was about to pull in and try five guys burgers and fries and then saw the steakhouse next door and just spur of the moment went there instead. I'm glad I did.

Migraine. Woke up at 4am to the light show... I don;t actually get a bad headache, but the aura and complete exhaustion and sensitivity... was able to come late to work to get a couple hours' rest. I'll make it, but it's just going to be a long day. Almost a year to the day since I had my last one, which took weeks to recover from. :( Pray for me...

Feel better everyone with ailments. It's horrible weather here (except for the thunder and lightening). NOT spring at all though. For the record, I said this at work, posted it on facebook and I'm saying it here. If I so much as catch a glimpse of a fracking groundhog I am clubbing the lying son of a bitch like I'm a poacher and he's a baby seal.

deer, is there a seasonal food or beverage you're consuming at this time of year and not at other times that could be triggering the migraine?

Well, I am almost fully recovered. Itching to get back down to Wellington and back into my routine and social circles- it's getting boring as hell here!
