Yep, in May, book five of the White Buffalo Pipe Woman Chronicles will be released...assuming ali gets it finished in time. Lots of loose ends to tie up!

Ok another easy one I suspect.

3 children discover a large tree that is inhabited by magical creatures, and is a gateway to various Lands.

Is that The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton? It's a long time since I read it but I remember Saucepan man. I bought a copy to read to Patrick but we haven't started it yet. I did read some of Mr Pinkwhistle to him though.

It does sound like it, Iolanthe. I remember very little of those stories. I do remember Mr Whatshisname (not sure that's the right name, but you get the idea), who went to a kind of fortuneteller at one point to learn what his name was, but it was so long he immediately forgot it again.

You are correct! The first book is called The Enchanted Wood which I'm reading to my daughter at the moment.

Thanks Stevie (sorry to hear about your back).

OK. Another of my very favourite authors (19th century):

Irish MP wrongly accused of murdering another MP. Irish MP had an attachment (no hanky panky) to murdered MP's wife in the past.

One of a series of 6 books, part of the book's title is one of the names of the Irish MP.

Another clue? Well, the author at one time worked for the post office and had a big hand in introducing the pillar box (mail boxes where you post letters).

A giveaway clue to finish this. The book is one of the 6 Palliser novels by Anthony Trollope.

No! But you got half of it right. PF is the first book he appears in. The one I wanted was Phineus Redux!

Your turn.

Well, the Mallorys community has given Savor Dam 17 months (or so) to come up with a clue, so perhaps it's time to move on :D

Guess this book:

A story about a young teenager living on an island near Scotland, who has killed 3 people, but nonchalantly explains that it was just a phase he was going through...
