Good to know. Bitter melons tend to sell poorly. :P
I may have to change my handle to something more citrus-based. I might be more palatable that way :lol:

As long as you keep it sweet, juicy and not too acid, we are good. ;)

Not sure which part of Ireland's cultural landscape you associate with, but any chance you will be elected Pulp later this month?

Thank you, thank you! There you go, you gotta be in it to win it, eh! Commiserations to u in particular who deserved this one. But that won't stop me from gloating!

The most amusing part is that deer and u tied, after all u's awesome research! :lol: (sorry u, I don't mean anything by it, you know that, don't you u? :biggrin: )

Yes Ali, you should have played! Actually I was surprised so many potential contestants didn't play. Apart from being one of the coolest WWM competitions, all you needed to do was pick numbers if you didn't know the answer!

Believe it or not, my biggest hangup with this thread has been that I can't come up with new, good ideas. I decided to not be hung up, and to let the lame and/or reused ideas flow. Fair warning.

I call dibs on reusing Hyperception's limerick entry, should another limerick contest be forthcoming.

I kid. I kid...

Well, I have 1000 WGD to give away, so let's go.

(Win Wayfriend's Money is a periodic contest that I started about five years ago. Members had been begging other members for white gold dollars, in order to buy certain special items in the Store, like the White Gold Ring or the Arch of Time. So I figured, why not make them compete against each other in contests of imagination and comedy in order to win my money? Now, that's entertainment. It's been going, off and on, ever since. Anyone can play. Contests involve posting something (usually) and then non-players can vote for the entry that they like best (usually). I am the final judge of the winner, and the winner gets some of my money. Read this thread from the top for more information.)

The Contest
Should the Sandgorgons of the Great Desert ever be freed from Sandgorgon's Doom, they will discover that the world is very different from what they remember. Things have changed. The world has moved on.

They will have to get a job.

Contestants will submit a job application, résumé, curriculum vitae, letter of introduction, or similar document, which shows us a Sandgorgon applying for a job. You choose the job, and you explain why your Sandgorgon will be a good fit. Don't forget your Sandgorgon's name. Contestants' entries will be judged on style, ingenuity, humor, and an understanding of the dynamics of the post-Doom job market.

Kevin Landwaster
CEO - Desecration Incorporated
The Land

2nd August 2013

Re: Demolition Services - "The Land"

Dear Kevin,

I am writing in response to the recent advertisement regarding the above services. Unusual events have allowed a change in my current circumstances, and I am excited to be applying for this role, for which I am an exceptional fit.

As you will see from my CV, I have extensive and relevant experience, including:

- Once you call my name, I will be onsite in seconds ready for work;
- No machinery required, I will tear apart any structure with my bare hands;
- I have been described (see referees) as tremendously powerful, almost invincible by my peers. No job is too large or too small, and I will completely demolish even the toughest structure;
- Thanks to Thomas Covenant, slaying my summoner is no longer part of my job description. I just focus on the job at hand;
- Since consuming Samadhi Sheol, my intelligence and self-awareness has really developed. You are not only spared from death, but can also have a meaningful conversation with me.

I have many other beneficial attributes relevant to this role. However, my future is uncertain - some say I am prone to corruption, so I prefer a short-term contract. I am swiftly developing interests in dominance and conquest, but am still pleasant enough to be around.

I have always admired Desecration Incorporated, and the way that you go about your business. Your philosophy of Tear down the Wall has a resonance to it that has always attracted me - it's music to my ears (so to speak).

Attached is my CV, as well as personal referees. I feel that this position would be a natural progression in my career path, and I look forward to meeting with you to further discuss my suitability to this role.

Sincerely,

Nom

Nicely done, Stevie. You've set a high bar for subsequent entries.

However, I had never really associated Kevin with certain '80s superpower leaders before. :P
