Halfway through. Thoroughly enjoying it. Resolutely not commenting further to avoid spoiling anything. Still intend to pass "ARC of Covenant" on once both Menolly and I have read.

Finished TLD over the weekend. Menolly picked it up yesterday and is now reading at her pace. Looking forward to being able to discuss it with her as she progresses.

May I ask for a rating without you giving anything away? :D

A numeric rating? No. Too subjective; says both too much and too little.

What I will say is that I agree with Creator in that I liked it...and also with starkllr in that I do not know what I think. What SRD did is both similar and different from what I expected.

"...all I want really is a worthy ending." said renny. It is certainly that.]

A lot of the book is gripping, can't put it down stuff. Other places may drag a little...but one does not achieve narrative crescendos without letting them build.

I have repeatedly asserted my trust in SRD when trying to counter those who deprecate the LCs. My trust was justified.

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to the thread. As promised, the ARC that starkllr offered at the beginning of this thread and that I won is now ready to be handed down to the next reader.

Much as I admire the concept of the games of Win Wayfriend's Money, I think I will retain the simplicity of starkllr's method. Between now and Aug 9, those who want a chance at winning a chance to win this ARC (and hopefully pass it on again) should post that desire to this thread, then I will generate a random digit in the range of the number of candidates and the winner gets the ARC for only the cost of shipping. For priority mail in the US, this is about $10. Elsewhere...I will have to check, but having shipped books as far as South Africa, I am confident I can deliver to just about anywhere Watchers are.

Prior participants are welcome to throw their names in again, but please do express your want for the ARC again...no automatic re-entry.

Go!
