For what it's worth, I was born in China. Luckily, my mom survived the Japanese bombings of WWII, otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here typing. After a lovely time in the labor camps of the Cultural Revolution, my parents said goodbye to Communist China. We came to Canada, where the fair prairie city of Winnipeg has been my home ever since. How are things down in Florida, TOM?

I guess that I'm a late-comer to this thread. (found it today)
Anyway, here it goes...

My name is Bob Lang and 42 years old. Married for the last 17 years and have 10 grandkids. (THAT'S another story unto itself)
Live in the Tampa Bay area in Florida,
where the mosquito is the State Bird and sand-spur is the State Flower!
I weigh-in at double the 110 lbs. mark and stand at a whole 5'-15" (go figure)

I work for a company that builds signs. (We have two that are in Tampa Stadium... oops, it's now called Raymond James Staduim. They could be on national T.V. when the Bucs play at home.)
Was an Electrician for several years, worked in a restaraunt as a baker, operated heavy equiptment (ie: bulldozers, loaders, compactors, ect.)
and did maintenance work in apartment communities. (And a hotel, and homes,...)
I love to read, listen to classic rock, golf, and play games on my computer.

Back in the day, I played some football in High School and was on the school newspaper staff as Managing Editor; skateboarded for a skate park in the late 70's/early 80's; and was/am heavily into Martial Arts.

There could be more to add, but the rest is kinda boring.

Well, I could give my full name, but suffice to say that I prefer to go by Will (though my first and last are Gerald Kekumu). I was born and raised in a suburban subdivision on the island of Hawai'i, near an aging logging town called Pahoa. Incidentially, my surname is also of Hawaiian origin, as it is my step-father's, and means "The Teacher". Ah.. Let's see, right, I moved to Canada recently (in fact, we got here August 28th, 2001) and graduated from high school here.

I like to draw, listen to video game music (and it's remixes), listen to music in Japanese (in general, though I do have a handful of english cds), play video/computer games (my current favorite is Warcraft 3), and read (particularly the Thomas Covenant Series ^_^).

I guess that's everything of relative interest about me, though I am a fairly boring guy all around

Admittedly, living in Hawai'i was rather interesting. At least looking back on my experience there. Though it seems we have kevin's watch members (.. watchers?) all over the world

. I've always been rather fascinated with Europe and in some ways, I admire the people who live there; perhaps foremost of all is the collection of cultures and languages that one would be exposed to.

And Skyweir, I understand you live in Australia? From what I've heard, it's supposed to be similar to Hawai'i, only less humid (but don't quote me on that.. ^_^ I haven't actually been there!)

I'm actually rather excited to finally have posted here on the Watch, what with having read some of the phenomenal and eloquent opinions and dissections. In a manner of speaking, it's almost like being on Starfare's Gem with the giants

I have a brief question, if unrelated to introductions:

I had scanned through the dissection for chapter 11 of LFB (The Unhomed, where TC has that dream) and I have some sort of an opinion that hasn't been expressed. So my question is this: would it be more appropriate for me to post a reply in the dissection part of the Watch, or is it alright for me to start a post in the general Thomas Covenant forum?

Hello and welcome, Badger. To keep the conversation running on track, so we don't have to chase topics all over the board, it is most appropriate to post your reply in the thread about that chapter where you have an opinion.

If it were a subject that is larger than a chapter, and you can't find an existing thread about that topic (try the handy-dandy search function in addition to your eye-scan), that's when you want to blazon forth a new topic.
