I kept waffling between the Kindle and hc versions. Then I noticed the hc actually ships 2 days before the Kindle goes out!! So I bought the hc, which is good because I have the other Last Chrons as hardcover too (in Africa).
Anybody else pre-ordered?

The last time I pre-ordered a Donaldson book from Amazon, I didn't get it until several weeks after it was released. Never again. Now I just drop in on a bookstore I know will have it on the release date.
I suppose if I wanted the kindle version that might not be an issue. But I want my first read to be a hard cover read.

Yeah, I looked at my "estimated shipping date" and it was NOT October 15.
I canceled my order after calling the local B&N and finding out they plan to get it in on the 15th-- and I reserved a copy there.

Yay is right. I'm glad for you you spotted it.
I've also noticed that, if you buy it in the store on the first day, it's usually marked 20% off anyway. At least it was at Borders ... good ole Borders ...

I haven't pre-ordered it at this point, as I'm not even sure if it'll be coming out here at the same time as the US. I'll probably either go a few days after your release date for it, or just try to remember to ask about the date whenever I'm next in a book store. (Either way, I'm generally not much of a pre-orderer! Generally I like to go in myself on release day - and normally pick one that's in good condition, rather than being given one with a slightly bent corner or something like that!)
Wasn't there some sort of push to get pre-orders for the previous third chrons books? Something to do with helping sales numbers for best seller rankings upon release?
