I just bought a first edition of the White Gold Wielder

Post by snake0024 »

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I am sure that if it isnt the mods will find a nice home for it...

I was at a near by second-hand books shop, and I found the 1st edition of said book, with the original map, typos, and the like

The book itself is in quite good condition, though the jacket is in a bit above mediocre condition

I ended up paying $30 (Canadian) for it, but Istill think it was well worth it :D

Yep, this seems to be in the right place.

Cool that you found a first edition copy, Snake!

Its great to have 1st edition hardbacks of your favorite books isn't it. Does anyone know a list of what are the 'official' 1st editions of the Covenant books. I've started trying to track them down and some seem to be Book club editions and some were (maybe) published first in paperback. Any help would be great.

Yesterday the postman delivered a 1st edition of The One Tree, and a Ist (U.K) edition of The White Gold Wielder, These cost me £20 and £8 which I think is a great deal. Can you believe that because they wouldn't fit through the letter box the postman left them IN THE BIN, !!!!!!! Good job it wasn't rubbish collection day.

Lordy.. nothing would suprise me with our posties. One of them didnt have anyone to buzz open the security door once... so lobbed a package up 2 floors through a window.. luckily i was curious enough about the battered thing on the stairs it realise it was post [and lucky i saw it first].
Thats cool.. i have the same WGW.. Collins isn't it? Man, doncha just love the Peter Goodfellow artwork? Definitely my favourite from all ive seen. I've got the BCA editions for 1st chrons too .. i'm not sure if those were the first to make these shores.. the print dates are certainly a lot later than the copyrights. For the 2nd chron i'm pretty sure first prints were Collins/HarperCollins with the Goodfellow art.. and i've a feeling all the chrons will have been released by them in hb .. Gilden Fire and Daughter of Regals are also Collins first printings here and in HB.. same too for MN and Gap.. as HarperCollins for the Gap stuff.

Collins - yeh that's it, fantastic art work - same as on the paperbacks, I think I'll try for a complete set of U.K hardback firsts, The U.S ones are pretty cool - the One Tree has (I think) a couple of Elohim on the cover illustration, its my favorite of all the books so I was well pleased to have an origianal U.S copy.
Does your copy of TPTP have an illustration of Revelstone on the cover? Its one I've never seen before and not at all as I picture it.

Yeah they're nice too.. i have the set of 2nd chrons US Del Rey hardbacks as well lol Hopefully we'll see this all as ive scanned everything i own for the site. Re: TPTP ... my BCA one has the S.C.Wyeth drawings, which is as u say of Revelstone. The Fontana [Collins in HB] Goodfellow one is of Fouls Creche/Hotash Slay. I actually have a spare of the TPTP BCA one if u need it.. dont forget too that they [Collins] released the chrons as entire volumes 1 and 2 with goodfellow art in hardback.. cant remember what the covers were like but hopefully someone will have them for the site
