Another reading along thread

Post by shadowbinding shoe »

After the success of the last group-read (*) I and a couple of other members had (of Against All Things Ending) I want to do it again with The Last Dark. Same rules, same reasons.

I got the book :nanaparty: and, like last time, will read it and express my impressions about it, one chapter at a time, here. Anyone is welcome to join as long as no spoilers are made about the following chapters. :hairs: :3M:

Expect more soon.

While I don't want to repress any discussion about TLD, couldn't you wait until we do a dissection of it? I'm planning to start it after the first of the year.

Aren't dissections usually much later after the book's published? Also, the idea here is to review while reading the book for the first time. Haven't yet started the book so it might be a few days before I even start posting.

Sometimes we've waited a while, sometimes we've started shortly after publication. The decision has been based partly on the general mood of the Watch and partly on time constraints with the mods. I think that since this is the last TC book ever, there's no need to put it off. Of course, I haven't discussed this yet with my DTL co-mod, Danlo.

I guess I don't see any real harm to what you're proposing, so long as you kick in on dissecting when the time comes. ;)

Hey SS! I missed you on on my reading along thread. I thought you'd join in. Getting a late start? (And I thought it took me forever to finish. :) )

I've talked to Danlo, and we'll be starting a dissection of TLD after the first of the year. I'll get a sign-up thread going in the next few days.

Oops!! There's already a reading along thread! :o

Well I'm saddened (and gladdened) to proclaim that I've finished the books. After discovering that this thread was already done I thought I'd add any comments there but one thing led to another and I finished the book. I'll add some comments in Z's thread anyway. I've deeply enjoyed it despite some flaws. The ending may be
Spoiler
sappy
but it did give a nice closure to the series.

See you in the other threads
