Trust

Post by lurch »

There is this " play" with knowledge by the author. At first, we the readers know more than Linden does about TC's travail with Joan et al.In a way, the author is Trusting us. And soon we know a bit more about Linden and company than TC and crew knows, Then in increments Linden's thoughts never quite come to a final conclusion, leaving us, the readers, to figure it out on our own, correctly or incorrectly, Only with mounting clues do we finally figure out what Linden knows what she has to do and has already planned to do. This is going on while Linden is fathoming the concept of " Trust". Heck even the Ranyhyn had a few things figured out before Linden or We did,,yea, Trust your instincts.

But , again, its that new perspective thing. Thru the variable of time, we see that knowledge is also subjective and variable. The whiplash metaphor is again, the feroce's glamour on Linden , putting together two plus two from her feroce guided memories, to formulate what she must do with Covenants cryptic message, "remember forbidding"...The weird is..the Lurker gives Linden an equivalent of a High Five,,okay in his case its more of a High 100 or so, for getting the message, by trusting the messengers.
This motif repeats with Linden knowing what one last thing she has to do..trust loving her self.
I think there is a trust between the author and the reader as well. I just don't know...how much Trust he put in Us. Maybe , like Linden, its just a matter of Time for his trust in us to pay off.
If she withdrew from exaltation, she would be forced to think- And every thought led to fear and contradictions; to dilemmas for which she was unprepared.
