I've been watching prices for over a week and they're not coming down, still in the $500 range round trip for me. I've looked at flying from Atlanta or Nashville and it's not any better.
Does anyone that went to E'fest '07 remember which hotel we stayed at?

I feel like I did pretty good, about 150.00 less than last year when I went to NM. 336 round trip plus one free piece of check-in luggage each way. I personally don't believe prices on airfare get better as the date gets closer. You can get last minute cars and lodging last minute but airfare only seems to rise.
just to update, Julie says we are go. she wants to swing by the Grand Canyon the Monday after we break. are we going to the reservation on Sunday again?
well yes, the Ford Prefect was a British thing, and alas I was long gone from high school by the time Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy came out.

I am booked. If nothing comes up, I'll be getting there around 7pm Friday night and leaving mid afternoon on Sunday. Hopefully this time I can make it!
So, took the next step this evening and registered with ESTA, the online site for visa waivers for travel to the US.
I have the money together for the trip, so now it's a case of deciding how long I'm going to stay for and booking the flights and hotels. I'd hope to get in on the Wednesday or Thursday before the 23 June and then tour around for a week or more afterwards. I'd be interested in seeing Taos as well if there was a gang going. I have it in mind to see the Panhandle (since I'm in the vicinity) so I could use Taos as my base for heading out into the back-of-beyonds.* (We're used to the back-of-beyonds here in Ireland )
I sense a plan forming

*Then If I have time, I wouldn't mind heading down to Mexico (again seeing as I'm in the vicinity).
Tho' all the maps of blood and flesh
Are posted on the door,
There's no one who has told us yet
What Boogie Street is for.

I'm getting in on the 17th (which happens to be my birthday ) and staying until the next Thursday. Ali, Iolanthe and I are heading up to Taos, Santa Fe and Ojo Caliente after the fest.
