Hi all

Post by Andthelorddidgrin »

Like most folks, I would imagine, I read the first and second chronicles in my youth, and was giddy as a cheerleader when I read in the early 2000's that SRD was continuing on. I've lurked here for a bit, but now I thought I'd throw in my two cents every now and then.

I've been laid up this past week after a bit of neck surgery so I finally had the time to read TLD, and now that the series is over I wanted to see what others thought. Hope to have some lively discussions!

Hello Andthelorddidgrin.

My hubby had neck surgery 30 odd years ago - you can hardly see the join.
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Welcome to the Watch, Ms. Didgrin. Please be careful that you don't strain your neck due to an overly lively discussion. Heads have been known to spin all the way around.

30 ODD years ago...so, 60 years ago in normal people counting?
Or do you mean "Man, 1992 was weird [1]. And 1873, year of the flaming goat sausage, that was strange [2]..." in which case he COULD be truly ANCIENT! I'm pretty sure the Mayans were doing brain surgery [whether they had a salad at the same time is up for debate]...so who KNOWS when the 30th odd year ago was.

the hyperbole is a beauty...for we are then allowed to say a little more than the truth...and language is more efficient when it goes beyond reality than when it stops short of it.

Welcome to the Watch, Andthelorddidgrin!

May you thrive here (feasting upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and...) and contribute.

You may begin posting at the count of three, no more, no less.

An English term you are obviously not familiar with. Translated, 30 years give or take one or two. But just to disprove my total naiveity, you probably knew that already and were taking the Michael.

I think it must have been about 32 years ago as the children were quite small at the time. I remember my daughter was very taken by "daddy's zip" (he had staples rather than stitches)!

Welcome, and please feel free to dig into any topic you find here (I did), or create a few of your own (I did) and try not to mind the differing points of view (I didn't). Be welcome and unafraid to throw in your :2c: on subjects that interest you (there are SO MANY to choose from). Don't hesitate to ask for :Help: when you need it, and have a great time while you're here!

Greetings, Andthelorddidgrin. Now that you've read TLD, you might find
Spoiler
me not as unnerving as many of the Watchers do - or perhaps the opposite - what is more dangerous than an enemy within?
I have many names... and may play many roles

So that it's clear: I'm not the Lord Foul who was on the Watch before, from 26.10.2002 to 16.06.2012

Welcome! Please feel free to prove everything anyone has to say here wrong.. well, me anyways. I'm not sure i know what I'm talking about half the time. Still trying to find an intelligent opening for me to worm my way into that think-tank.. it's taken me ages.
