Just make sure it's a nice shrubbery...but not too nice.bungleman wrote:Thanks guys, I figured SRD was pretty laid back about such things. And a shrubbery eh? We talking like bonzai trees or full fledged topiaries? I could sculpt him a flamingo or something.wayfriend wrote: And everyone must bring him a shrubbery. Don't forget.

Where did you get those dates?
I arrive late on the 15th and fly back to the distant lands of eternal ice very early on the 26th. I *might* join the Santa Fe gang if possible (that place was highly recommended to me by a friend), so perhaps not around ALB on the 23rd any longer.
Posting more later, thanks for the dinner info, need to get to bed now.

Arriving late on the 17th, leaving Albq on the 23 to SF and leaving NM on the 26th very late at night.wayfriend wrote:Let me know if this is worth keeping up to date, and if so, whatever might need to be added, removed, or changed.

I like this a lot. Thanks for putting it together! In addition, I am extremely jealous of the extra time you all have there. That said, however, I am leaving for Hawaii on the 25th so my envy has its boundaries...wayfriend wrote:Let me know if this is worth keeping up to date, and if so, whatever might need to be added, removed, or changed.

I don't want to jinx it, but Bossk and I might be bringing along one of our friends Nathan. The three of us have been friends since grade school, and it would make this trip all the more special. But I don't think Nathan has ever been on Kevin's Watch but he is a hell of a fella, and I know you all will enjoy his presence, as much as he will enjoy yours. He has read Donaldson, although I'm not entirely certain how much. I'm nearly positive he has read all of the first two chronicles of Covenant and I'm fairly sure he has read the Gap series, but I'm not sure beyond that. We are still in the convincing phase, and he seems fairly convinced he wants to come, so we'll see.

Yeah, indeed. He was a joy to meet at the last EFest. I'm his friend on Facebook. I'm thinking I could message him.dlbpharmd wrote:Has anyone notified Scott Brick of the final dates/plans?
Edit: Ok, I did message him. I let him know the date and if he requires more info to either visit us here or ask me directly. We'll see. He was one of the bright spots in my opinion of the previous EFest. VERY nice, and very fascinating to listen to, as he had great stories.

*sigh* In the opposite situation.
According to a preliminary wardrobe check, I can scrounge together some loose-fitting light pants and shirts and a straw hat, but nothing befitting a fancy dinner. No, not arriving there in a metal band tee and camo, no matter how "casual". I *have* skirts and dresses, but what's practical on Valpurgis night outside in central Scandinavia won't do in a desert so hot rocks melt. Frame of reference: it has snowed today. Those who have frequented Albuqueerque, are there shops that sell smart lightweight dresses? I cannot afford one with my current budget over here, but I've heard that in America garments cost about 25-30% of the cutthroat prices maintained hereabouts.
