Yea, "busting out all over"!

Just occurred to me, I have Ali's mobile number, but Ali won't be there when I arrive. My plane is due to land at 4.30 pm on Wednesday so I need to be able to contact someone who will be there. Other than that, I can wear a daffodil and stand in a particular place looking hopeful?
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Io, I'm pretty sure the SD taxi can meet you at the airport on Wednesday, depending on what time you get in. Best confirm with SD, though.

Yes, 4:30 on Wednesday is entirely doable. Menolly and I will be there already and you are staying where we are staying. It will be our pleasure to be the first Watchers to welcome you to ABQ.

PM me with the flight you are coming in on so we can check arrival times on the day-of and adjust for any schedule changes.

My thought is that we can stand just outside the security cordon with a little sign with your real name (which Menolly knows since you two are also FB friends), but just in case we miss one another, let's exchange mobile phone numbers. I will PM you ours.

I was planning to pick you up but am happy to relegate it to SD if that will be a way to entice them to visit.

Aren't we celebrating your birthday with you at Cochina Azul, lorin?

Many thanks folks. And there was I looking forward to someone in the Chancellor's robes holding a placard saying Iolanthe :D (just joking!). I'll pm you my mobile number when I turn it on. I have to keep it off overnight until I have dowloaded my emails onto the computer next morning otherwise the damn phone downloads them and I lose them. I rang the phone people yesterday and they assure me that my phone will work in the US. Perhaps I still have to use the UK to US code prefix there - I seem to remember that Frosty had to use the UK code when she was here at Christmas.

Lorin, if you join SD and Menolly in meeting me I will be delighted. You have been my mainstay in all this after all.

Maybe you guys could pick me up as well before or after fetching Io from the airport, and then go to celebrate birthdays together?

I got my mobiles and subscriptions checked as well, and between two older models that apparently each support slightly different signal modulation, I'll have one functioning mobile depending on the state.
I don't think you'll have to use the international country code within America if you're calling to a native number, BUT if someone's calling to a number registered in a different country, one'll have to use the code nevertheless (that's how I understand it). Say, ali calls Io within the States, so ali'll have to add +44 to Io's number.

I still have several cell numbers of attendees from various fests over the years, but I'll gladly exchange with anyone that Pms me.

For those of you who have moved (Menolly, Romeo, CJenn, etc) - are your numbers the same?

I think mine would be the same, as I've had it for several years before I moved. Does the one you have for me have a (425) area code?

Last time I talked to Jenn, within a few months ago, her number was the same as I've had for years...

Can I ask about the sightseeing trips arranged to happen during the fest and which I might be welcome to join? What has been planned (For instance what's the High Tea road trip mentioned in wf's chart?) and which places are on the list?
I have only 1,5 weeks left and have to form a schedule. :)

High Tea is held at danlo's and Lady Tam's. The road trip happens during the day prior to High Tea. I do not know about at the first 'fest, but at the last two we carpooled out to Valles Caldera, which several Watchers (myself included) liken to Andelain.

I have not heard if that is the same plan for the road trip at this 'fest, though.

I'd love to see that place, but my guidebook says something about limited amounts of people permitted to the trails daily? Do you have to pre-book to visit?

When we went there during the 2011 Elohimfest, we really did not venture out onto trails much. It was one of several stops that day, including a group wade in the Soulsease river, and the trip as a whole was well worth going.

See some of the pictures in the 'fest section of the Albums!

I hope we do a group road trip somewhere. The Caldera, Sandia Peak, or somethin'.

Pics are in Album > Group 'Fests. Look for Sep 2010 for E-Fest 3, Jun 2007 for E-Fest 2, and E-Fest 1 goes back to the earliest pics in the Album. There's lots of pics from non-Fest gatherings too.

Andelain

Could not find any Soulsease pics ... perhaps they are in the E-Fest 3 thread but not the album.

[edit] Try here.

Alas, many pics have aged out of their server. That's why we have an Album, people! :)

My number is the same as it's been and I'm just going to post it here and take my chances. 415-297-9952. I don't answer unknown numbers as a general rule so leave a message and I will call you back to confirm your identity. I am now an official resident of Albuquerque but during E-fest I will be crashing with Danlo and Lady Tam because it will make it so much easier to coordinate events, arrivals, departures etc. Also thanks SD for your airport shuttle service. Any other airport pickup requests should probably be voiced soon so that we can plan them. Yes. I am a nag.

Oh boy! I am getting very nervous, and excited, about the trip. Now I've got my plane "tickets" (a computer printout on an A4 sheet!), and my train tickets and it's becoming a reality. Less than two weeks now to the start of my big adventure. I'm so looking forward to meeting everyone, especially Lorin who has looked after me so well with accomodation etc.

I've never done anything like this before - never really travelled anywhere alone since I was a teenager. Only been abroad once before. So, everyone, think of me as a little old woman who needs looking after, please!

I think we can officially say now that Bossk and I will be bringing our imaginary friend Nathan along as well. Partly because he is an interesting guy that you all will enjoy meeting, partly because he is a Donaldson fan of old as well, but mainly so that we can see if others see him too, as he appears real to us.
I joke...it's just that he hasn't ever become a member of the Watch.
