The link you posted refers to the entire gallery/photostream, which is actually not a bad idea. It will not hotlink images, but if you replace the text img with url , it will let people browse all the images at once.
Posting individual images is a bit trickier. First click the image itself, then the white arrow in the lower right-hand corner, then BBCode. Select the desired size from the first drop-down menu, and then copy&paste the code right below that to your post. You'll have to do this to all the images.

IT WORKS! Thank you both for your effective guidance; what once seemed difficult now becomes "a piece of cake".

Thank you for setting the record straight, aliantha! My apologies for getting it confused. I was drinking enough beer that night that I thought I COULD have just been dreaming the whole thing. It was wonderful being able to laugh with you! So many funny remarks...wish I could jump into a time machine so I could rejoin you all that night and remember everything!

Glad you got it at last, dlbpharmed, especially as that picture is your creative concept! I'm grateful to Frostheart and Menolly for talking me through my technological ineptitude, for sure.dlbpharmed wrote:There it is! The updated "Spectrum of the English Language" pic!

It's mainly thanks to rdhopeca's encouragement that I've pushed through the first two Gap books and am having such a good time reading book 3! Man, I OWE him!)

part 3
Our road trip to Vulgaris continues. In Utah.....or was it Arizona......or was it Nevada......well, somewhere in there we made lots of stops.
please notice Mike's penchant for cliffs and driving me frigging crazy......

by now he had reoriented his brain's perspective and was driving on the CORRECT side of the road

We stopped at this one place in Utah, I believe with the most interest formations (FROSTY take note) Somehow the wind had formed jagged cuts in the rocks that looked like teeth. From ground level it looked like this

but from up where Mike had hiked it looked like this;

due, unfortunately to my increasing vertigo over the 10 days, I remained here

but notice the rock formations in the background.
The heat when entering Las Vulgaris was about 113 in the shade.

on the road to Vulgaris

It was horrible. Vulgaris was this giant pulsating sweltering rock in the desert. My assignment was to find 'the' hotel, the one hotel that summed up Vulgaris in one night. It wasn't easy but eventually..............
I FOUND IT

The one place that summed it all up without saying a word.

This was it..........
yes it was everything I had hoped for. I wanted to scream. I think I may have actually. But who would have heard me above the throngs of people, the piped music, the cars, the horns, the heat,
and the lights

stay tuned for Part 4......Leaving (escape) from Las Vulgaris.

With the final attendance of U. and Lorin for 4th of July it marked the official end of E'fest... I wish it never had to end...

Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Great pics, lorin. And thanks for confirming that my decision never to visit Vegas was an excellent life choice.

You know, I love to gamble. I like casinos. But Vulgaris was not about the casinos, not really. It was about the selling, the malls. Everything was for sale.aliantha wrote:Great pics, lorin. And thanks for confirming that my decision never to visit Vegas was an excellent life choice.![]()
I prefer Atlantic City. At least there is the beach and boardwalk. (at least there WAS a boardwalk.)

I was talking to jonnyredleader about this at breakfast that morning when he asked about visiting Vegas, and I told him, you can basically do everything and anything you want, in particular all those things you would be ashamed if your parents found out. If you're not into that sort of thing, or have a specific reason to go (I go for the World Series of Poker tournaments and programming conferences), then there's no real reason to visit Vegas. I mean, the shows are nice, but they are not worth the constant bombardment of debauchery.lorin wrote:You know, I love to gamble. I like casinos. But Vulgaris was not about the casinos, not really. Part 4 Leaving Las Vulgaris
After one night in Vulgaris I was screaming to escape. U. took everything much more casually. He seemed fascinated by all of it but it just wanted to make me sick. So around 10 we checked out of Excalibur and headed toward the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.
Lake Mead. 112 degrees in the shade. Searing heat that affected the quality of the pics.

Hoover dam. It was so hot that it was nearly impossible to walk too far out on the dam. I had a soaked paper towel to cool myself off. Within 2-3 minutes the towel was bone dry. And the wind whipped across the damn. I believe we hit 114 with all the concrete.

After Hoover we headed out to Flagstaff. In Williams there was a huge storm settling in that made for great pics

After we got through the storm we looked behind us to see the most amazing site. The sunset against the heavy storm clouds. Pretty spectacular.
I convinced Mike to pull over and these are some of the shots;

We were headed up to Flagstaff but ended up staying instead in Winslow because we talked right through Flagstaff and never noticed. A definite sign of good company.
Winslow is the 'home' of the song by the Eagles "Take it Easy" which we found out was actually written by Jackson Browne.

We had breakfast in a little cantina owned by a famous Irish Mexican chef, O'Don McUss and his hard working bar maid Maria McOrtiz, pictured behind him.

We got a late start on Friday morning and headed up to the estate of Danlo, Tam and Jenn, who were hosting a 4th of July party. We got to meet some very nice people at the party, and again the food was spectacular. We watched fireworks and took many pics. Actually Miss Grace, purely out of tradition, took most.

girl power

I was a mess. I cried like a baby saying goodbye to everyone, including Danlo, Leslie, Jenn, Grace and my amazing travel partner, Mike.
