surgery tomorrow morning. apparently rather involved surgery. they are removing a tooth that has embedded into my sinus, fix the fracture in my jaw, repair the sinus and fix my broken septum thanks to a clients rogue fist. Maybe I will snore less now. They are using cadaver bone. I wonder if I will start having urges for raw meat. Anyway I will be knocked out for 3 hours but I am not staying overnight. Going home to my bed.

I should be a delight for the next few days. WARNING - don't listen to anything I say, don't accept any offers from me, don't accept any invitations from me, don't let me buy you anything, don't take ANYTHING I say seriously until I am off all the 'stuff' again.

of course tomorrow might be the perfect time to ask me for that BMW you've always wanted.........

Good luck and fast recovery. Sounds brutal but a big relief to have fixed.

Glad to hear it Lorin. Hope you feel the benefits when the initial messiness and zonkiness are over.

oy........i feel terrible. Cant lay down, can't breathe, can't sleep. can't wear glasses, my head is pounding, I can't swallow, there is packing in my nose with a long string to pull it out if I have an emergency breathing problem. They left an iv in my arm. Some nurse is coming tomorrow. I don't think she will come in the house because of helldog. I don't care about that.

The medication is making me depressed and sad and weepy.

Where is my chicken soup and a man to rub my feet or to talk to me or something. I'm sorry for whining. I am sad. And lonely.

blah blah blah. :( :( :(

Well the good (or bad) news is that is looks like I will survive. The nurse came today and gave me some meds, changed the packing, took out the IV and zapped me with some kind of painkiller. So I am good for a while. I am done with home care and everything probably will be ok. Found out hey didn't fix my septum though. Guess I am still a snorer. And I get to do this again. Yay!

Anyway, helldog did not kill the nurse. And neither did I thanks to a heavy dose of morphine. I am done feeling sorry for myself. (for now)

Onward and forward. Thanks for the good wishes.

Things are always better in daylight. Glad to hear it's better today.

We get a "summer BBQ" here at work this afternoon. I'll let you know if brats and key lime pie are on the menu...

Yay for good news.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It really does help. I look like an over cooked boiled egg. I tried to cut out this liquid morphine stuff but not yet. I'm no hero. Actually it is less of a problem with my behavior than the other stuff. I am not charging up my cards or inviting the local drug dealer to move in.

Eh, the usual. I'm trying not to rant about work unless I can make it entertaining to read. In short: it's the busiest time of year for us, we're operating with less than half the staff we should have, my workload is double AND I'm expected to cover other departments while overseeing the new inventory system that I can't get anyone to follow. :hithead:

Caffeine is a valid blood type, right?

will someone out there explain why pain is always so much worse at night? It is a strange phenomenon. It is not imaginary, it is genuinely worse at night.

I don't know a whole lot about what you do for a living, but I can sure sympathize with the misery. Wish I could help. I used to get through it by planning vacations.
