Who would win in a battle. A Sandgorgon(Sp) or a Fire-Lion?
List what you think would happen then do your own =)

i'm pretty sure a sandgorgon would win, against one at least. covenant blasted nom a few times with the white gold, and it only stopped him. i think nom or any such would be able to absorb the fire damage (especially since they're desert creatures) without too much injury... but one good wop of those pillar like limbs and a firelion would be splashed apart.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I would go with the sandgorgon too. But we really know too little about the fire-lions to really make a good guess.

Sorry, gonna go with the Fire-Lions. Remember, they have the Earthpower backing them, and what have the Sandgorgons got besides pure strength.

Fire-Lions would annihilate the sandgorgon with Earthpower.

One on one I would guess a sandgorgon. Nom must have some kind of Earthpower himself to be able to answer TC's summons so quickly. But we know little of the fire-lions.

Sandgorgon. :) I mean sure, TC knocked Nom around a few times, but he never did any real damage.

I'm not even going to guess on this one. I don't know enough about the fire lions.
Do you think they might pop up in TC3?

Hmmm, just a thought here...

What Fire-Lions? I always thought they were sort of a metaphoric way of speaking; what the people of the Land call 'lava':
Suddenly, the flames erupted. With a roar as if the air itself were burning, fires started charging like great, hungry beasts down every face and side of the mountain.
There are no actual 'Lions' here: "fires started charging like great, hungry beasts" - the lava comes swiftly down the mountain, making a sound like a roar and looking like great, hungry beasts.

So I think a Sandgorgon would win; he would simply run out of the path of the lava :?

Hmmm thats a matter of opinion.....its how you see it...i see them as actual fire lions and you see them as lava. hehe

The fire lions certainly seem like lava, but I do not think Mt. Thunder is an actual, active volcano. (Because an eruption would have destroyed all the ur-viles and cave-wights hiding in the catacombs.)

Thus I conclude that the fire lions are a manifestation of the earthpower unique to Mt. Thunder. Whether or not they are actually sentient or semi-sentient is a matter I have no opinion of. Too fight a sandgorgon they would have to be at least semi-sentient.

I'd say a Fire Lion, more Earthpower, more might, err mite- how do you correctly spell it?

How bout The First vs. Honninscrave vs. Foamfollower?

Gossamer Glowlimm, easily. She's a Swordmain. Even unarmed, she has EXTENSIVE training in fighting that the others lack.

I think it would be a stalemate, the fire would wash over the sandgorgon probably not doing much damage but a sandgorgon would have a hell of a time chasing a firelion back into the lava pits of Mt Thunder to finish the job. over time I think if the Sandgorgon Persisted it would eventually fail because i believe the firelions are not a solid entity that can be damaged by physical might, it would be like fighting hot shapeshifting liquid.

I think the fight might go something like this..Deafening Roar>KERSplash!!!!.... splash splash splash..... SPLASH, swish swish splash...SPLASH SPLASH SPLASH!!!!!!, mental thought by Nom..."this is no fun, I need a nice wall to bring down, maybe i should turn landsdrop into landslope.

who would win between Kaseryn of the Gyre and Satansfist holding a piece of the Illearth stone?

The First Vs Honninscrave or Foamfollower? armed I would have to say the First, unarmed, Foamfollowers extensive Battle Experience and might over the 47 years from TCs first and last visit might tip it in his favor having more actual hand to hand or in some cases hand to sword combat during the protection of Mithil Stonedown.

If he was caught unprepared, I'm not sure Kasreyn could withstand Satansfist for long. But if Kasreyn had time to study the Illearth Stone, then I think he just might be able to fend off Satansfist. I would not underestimate Kasreyn's lore - after all, in TOT he actually managed to absorb and re-direct Covenant's wild magic, albeit with the aid of his chair contraption.
