Anybody heard these guys?? A Haruchai rap group, of all things!! 8O
I don't know how many songs they have, but I heard The Bond and The Vow (W'as Up Kevin?), and they're slammin'!!

I'll try to remember the lyrics next time I hear them, and post them. (Unless somebody beats me to it!!)

So in which language did they perform, or both? (I'm thinking of those "macaronic" medieval carols with verses in English and refrains in Latin of varying quality... )

Wow, I forgot about this. Sorry folks. I'm sure you all have the lyrics memorized by now, as popular as these songs were. But for anyone who's been living in the Sarangrave for the last several years...

The Vow (Wa's Up, Kevin)

We came down from the mountains
to a place called the Land.
We figured we would take it
with the strength of our hands.
But everyone we met
was all wimpy and nice.
They gave us all we wanted
and they didn't want to fight.

So we kept on walkin'
lookin for a better home.
Then we found a little place called
-- Revelstone

Yo, Kevin!
(Wa's up, Kevin?)
Yo, Kevin!
(Wa's up, Kevin?)
Yo, Kevin!
(Wa's up, Kevin?)
Yo, Kevin!

[lots of that needle-on-lp noise, and the noise rappers make with their lips)

Well, we knew right away
that this place would be our crib.
We would kick the owners out.
I admit that we was glib.
But I tell ya, it was perfect.
There was even room to spare.
If we had to kill some people,
well, we didn't really care.

So our army laid siege.
We would starve the people out.
And if they tried to fight us
they would sure find out
that you cannot beat
Haruchai.
We beat any foe we meet.
And we don't use any weapons,
just our hands and our feet.

Then outta the gates
of this place that looked like Heaven
rode a man on a horse,
and he said, "My name is Kevin."

Yo, Kevin!
(Wa's up, Kevin?)
Yo, Kevin!
(Wa's up, Kevin?)
Yo, Kevin!
(Wa's up, Kevin?)
Yo, Kevin!

[more of all those noises]

We said, "Sorry t' tell ya,
but we takin' over here.
The cols and tors are pretty,
but they're slick this time of year.
We keep fallin' off 'em,
and it's hard to grow our food.
Now you seem a clever guy,
so don't you give no attitude!"

He said, "Ah see where this is goin',
'cause you got some mighty blings.
Why don't you come inside
while I'm packin' up my things."
So we said to our army,
"This chump is gonna pack.
While we're in there with him,
you be sure to watch our back."

But there wasn't no attacks,
and there's wasn't no deception.
Kevin left the gates wide open
the three days that we was with him.
We laughed with the Giants.
(Well, we didn't really laugh.)
Kevin gave us lots of presents,
and we rode the Ranyhyns' backs.

When we got back to our army,
we was all nonplussed.
We had to pay back Kevin
for the gifts he'd given us.
Bannor got a toaster.
Tuvor got a bike.
Korik got a nightie
for his wife to wear at night.

So we all took a Vow
not to die and not to sleep.
We would keep these people safe;
all their enemies would weep.

Yo, Kevin!
(Wa's up, Kevin?)
Yo, Kevin!
(Wa's up, Kevin?)
Yo, Kevin!
(Wa's up, Kevin?)
Yo, Kevin!

[you know]

Now, some of you might think
that we went a bit too far.
But we really couldn't help it.
That's the way
Haruchai are.

Hahahaha that was briliant.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
