Sorus made me do it. :P

This is a very short exchange between the main character, Sage Curtis, and her boyfriend Rafe. The "he" in the first sentence refers to Veles, the Slavic god of the Underworld.

“Gods, but He’s a pain in the ass,” I said when I was sure They were both gone.

“Oh, I don’t know,” said Rafe. “He’s not so bad, for a dragon.”

“Oh, really? How many dragons do you know?” I said.

He grinned at me in reply, and I felt my own attitude softening as I held his gaze.

Wow. Sage grown to an age where she has a boyfriend in her life...and they both have knowledge of dragons.

Yeah, I had to let Sage grow up before I could write about her. I can't write YA. :P Glad y'all like it. :)

She got more than a cameo in Scorched Earth...but still quite young compared to her apparent age in the snippet...

Having guessed at her significance (not that it wasn't well-foreshadowed) as early as when Naomi was carrying her, I have my eye on her and am eagerly awaiting her ongoing story.

The new series is set about ten years after Land, Sea, Sky. Sage was ten then, and Webb was six or seven. I never did pick a birthday for him, poor guy.
