I understand that his might sound like I'm paronoid but I know it to be true & I have proof.

This isn't the only place that I post at, there are other places as well.

At any rate, someone traced my IP back, pretended to be someone of government status and gained my phone number & address from my ISP. It really isn't a difficult feat if you know what you're doing.

Anyway, at first I thought it was a stupid sick joke & I responded by saying things like $*#&$# &$# and such. But the response was only an email, to my personal email. It wasn't listed on the forum server just like I don't list it here. The person stated "One of these days, I'm going to cut you into little pieces!"

Fortuneatly, I recognized the boast as song lyrics and called them on it. It is from Pink Floyd Meddle.

It didn't matter. I received a snail mail recently. The person wrote something on the back of a picture. It was a infrared image of me and my woman having sex in the bedroom. The message said the same thing.

At the forum, no one responds to my requests about this person. I guess that is to be expected.

Anyway, I just received an email. It states, "Here's your address xxxx south 156th xxxx xxxxxxsdxx washington, 98xxxx. " You can imagine the fillin the blanks that I see on the email. It also says, here is your phone number 425.xxx.xxxx. and then says, here is where you work xxxxxxxxxxx. And then it says, here's where your mother lives and your dad, and your brothers and sisters and it lists all their names addresses and phone numbers. And at the end it says, I'm going to kill you and everyone that you love. I'm random so it might be you first. It might be someone else in your family. I travel alot. It does not matter to me who I do first or last or inbetween. I am going to kill everyone that you love or have ever loved. This list is only a beginnning. There will be many more. Everyone you have ever cared about will die. I am coming soon. Expect the first attack in three days as I am headed to a city. I won't say which one. You can call the police or the FBI, it won't matter. Everyone is going to die anyway. There is nothing you can do. I have military training and equipment as I've already demonstrated. I am heading to the first city. You might be next or not, but it does not matter........ I will kill you in due time. A week. Maybe two. Max. Prepare as you wish. It matters not to me.

Can someone gain that kind of information from the internet? I thought this was anonymous.

I would have called the police and the FBI! Couldn't they find out who emailed it?

Okay Zeph, now for one I hope you aren't joking my friend, because there really are people that go through this kinda Sh*t okay? I have to say that my BS flag is at about 3/4 mast right now, because if you are just Mr. Miscellanious there is very little to no motivation for someone of a developed military background to be after you. Now that that's been said, I'm going to entertain the possibility that you aren't joking or outright lying, there are better more creative ways to switch your SN, just look at Slaymaker and that whole controversy.

One you should take the letter and photo to the police, they will be obligated to monitor not only your residence but your mail and phone calls, if you so request. The mail is so that, if anything else is sent they will be able to pick it up before its entered your domain of influence and all that, and it verifies that there is infact an entity seperate from yourself that is making threats, and its important for tracking and all that.

You should also take a look at the photograph that was taken, and find out where the picture was taken from, and keep an eye on the area, you could set up a camera or whatever.

And a question, do you have a dog? They are some of the best burglar alarm and defense systems in the world. You might look into that.

I don't really know how you are doing financially, but if it's plausible for you there are some really great protection agencies out there. So if that is an option I have some recomendations.

Also, review the letter that was sent and check the language, people of military background often have very distinct language characteristics that you might pick up on. If it isnt present it very well may be just some as*hole that wants to screw with you. Who knows.

So basically my friend, go give that stuff to the police, they'll set up a watch, and in all likelyhood if somthings going to happen it'll happen within 3 weeks, because whoever is writting this stuff said so, and people with that kind of aggressive personality don't like being wrong.

Make sure your doors are locked, talk to your wife about when and how you two will be leaving and returning home, set up a system where all visitors to your home, must call and identify before even starting the trip to your house or apartment.

A gun might not be a bad idea. You never know. And if you have to shoot make sure they are on your property and you should be cool.

I've read this twice now .. and am not sure if this is genuine or something you have made up to make us think it may be genuine ..

but ok .. lets take the view that it is genuine .. I can see how if someone somehow

may be able to acquire your IP addy ..

But just how do you imagine this same person pretended to be someone with government status to access your details?

Did you discover this from speaking with your ISP? and they told you someone "with government status" aquired it?

Thats kinda odd .. I dont know how things work in the US .. but even someone with "government status" has to demonstrate why privacy laws should be breached .. not only would they have to display their authority to the responsible ISP party .. but they would also have to show good reason to access information pertaining to you ..

anyway .. for arguement sake .. lets say things work differntly in the US

Lets say they did acquire your home phone number .. and even your personal address details ..

It does not follow that this person would also be able to access from that .. your family details ..

Clearly from your post .. you indicate that your family is not located under the same roof .. this guy would have to do some real work to identify all members of your immeditate family and their residential addresses. Where could this level of detail be accessed from? Surely not the limited details of your personal home phone line and residential address info.

Then there's the infra-red email of you and your "woman" having sex .. mmm .. an infra red image?

Do you know anyone you have pissed off so much that they would go to these lengths to scare you? or even .. want to kill you????

why are you posting here about this???

if you even for a moment believe any of this to be genuine .. why arent you taking the evidence of your ISP being approached and the infra-red image to the police?

mm .. the intrigue .. or not ..

Is big brother watching you zeph? or is it some sick twisted weirdo stalking you? or are you making it all up as you go along?

If any of this is remotely correct .. several crimes have already occurred ..

and you can demonstrate that they have .. print all the weird ass emails yuo have received .. take the other evidence .. and report it.

My Dearest Sky: to get someone's IP is no big matter, a lot of forum softwares show IP, IRC clients also, atc. It's a public thing, and you have to take specific measures to hide it (like using an anonymising proxy).
Personal address is another matter.

Okay, I admit it. Somebody is after me, too. I don't know much about him, except he has promised that I'll become away on Thu Mar 11, 2004 10:31 pm. I believe he is a master of ALT + 255, and that he hopes that by killing me, all my base are will belong to him. He is Vile, and I fear him not. So, if you see what seems to be me running away from him, understand that I am merely trying to lull him into a false sense of security, and biding my time for a counterattack.

You see people... I think what is going on here... Is Zeph is telling us this bullsh*t story, and then, when the count down comes. He'll disappear... then... when we're all questioning where is he gone... and was he telling the truth... Then... finally, after we post several embarassed and apologetic posts, he comes back, saying he was in hiding. We all welcome him back as the hero he wishes he was. heh.
